I will try not to start all the upcoming features with how it is hard to believe that it is almost 2019… But, seriously, where did 2018 go? It seems like only yesterday I was writing about the colour of the 2018, according to Pantone. It was Ultraviolet.
But they’ve announced the shade of 2019. And it is 16-1546 Living Coral, described as “an animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge. Vibrant, yet mellow [Living Coral] embraces us with warmth and nourishment to provide comfort and buoyancy in our continually shifting environment.”
I have a degree in culture studies so it is always interesting for me to read how Pantone interpret the social and cultural changes, and how that is reflected in a colour. So here is the official statement:
“In reaction to the
I was sent several bagsy products, and I have already reviewed the lipsticks they have in the line, and today I want to tell you about the blush, which is probably my favourite item from those that I’ve tried.
And here is why…
It comes in the cutest packaging, and with an inspirational quote inside. The product itself is very easy to use thanks for the domed shape which can be applied even on the go, and be blended out with fingers.
As for the texture, it is soft and velvety, I’d say it is cream-to-powder, the kind of formula most people prefer. It is not too creamy but, at the
I featured a MeMe Korean Beauty Box recently, and promised a detailed review of a cult product – Sweet Glam Tint Glow.
After using it for several weeks, I can totally see why it is loved by so many. First of all, it feels amazing on, hydrating, moisturizing and weightless at the same time, it definitely helps to improve the overall condition of the lips.
Besides that, it changes the colour with time, and looks different on everyone. I have the shade which is called 02 Juicy Coral (there are also 01. Baby Pink and 03. Fuchsia Purple available). Right after the application it looks
Summer is like the best season to pick up 5 colours coral/orange shades, right? So here we go…
YSL 4 Audacious Orange (review and swatches)
It is my personal favourite true orange. It is like a sunshine in a jar, instantly brightens the face and I love the fact that you it doesn’t have reddish/pinkish undertones, it is a true orange. The texture is cream-to-powder and blends nicely into the skin. Plus this also wins for the most luxurious packaging.
Jouer Petal (review and swatches)
I have to admit that I did not like this cheeks and lips tint that much at first, but now I do. Although it is described as soft rose pink on the official website, I still decided to include it in this selection. Maybe because it’s like a soft peachy pink to me. The texture is sheer and not heavy.
Available from Cult Beauty.
BECCA Beach Tint in Grapefruit (review and swatches)
I was asked about my orange/coral/peach nail polishes, so I thought I’d write about those.
But I have to warn you that I (and this is shocker for a lot of people, I understand) don’t really like such shades. I have managed to gather six and some of them are definitely no longer available. But this will give you an idea, I guess.
This post also made me look at my old nail polish features and realize that my photos/ manicure techniques have improved a lot, thank goodness.
Illamasqua Nail Varnish in Alarm
This is technically a red with a coral twist but I thought I’d include it anyway, as it is my favourite and I am so happy I got it. It’s perfect for summer time and I use it a lot, as you can see. See it on the nails.
Inglot Nail Enamel in 949
Bright true orange with a hint of very delicate shimmer that is visible in the direct sunlight. This is like summer in a bottle.
Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in 36 Crushed
I have got this one
