August 2014 Beauty Favourites
It’s monthly favourites time!
This month it was all about beautiful skin for me. The mix of Elemis Pro-Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm (review) and Clarins HydraQuench Tinted Moisturizer (review and swatches) was my dream combo. It made the skin smooth, radiant and youthful. And I mean it. I guess the fact that recently several (!) people thought that I am 19-20 speaks for itself. Plus you could definitely see the “real skin” underneath, no cakey thick masks which are even worse than bad skin tone itself, in my opinion.
Since I wanted to keep things on the light-to-medium side –YSL Touche Eclat (review and swatches) was my best friend, as well. For me it is a perfect light reflecting product for under the eye area, you get great, long-lasting results, also Touche Eclat doesn’t enhance the under eye lines.
August was definitely the month of cat eye, my favourite eye liner were: Rouge Bunny Rouge Raven Glaze (review and swatches) when I wanted an intense glossy black and Clarins 3 Dot Liner in Brun/Brown when a more subtle day-time look was desired. Both are fantastic.
When I did want to use eye shadows, it was mostly about the Balm Shady Lady Palette Vol.2 (review and swatches). I have re-discovered this amazing palette. theBalm eye shadows are definitely among my favourites.
Recently it’s been all about contouring. I hardly wore any blush, and did not need highlighter that much, since Clarins TM gave a wonderful glow. But I did use NYX blush in Taupe on a daily basis (review and swatches), it is perfection.
I was wearing Shellac Wild Flower most of the month and Marc Jacob’s Lola (which you can see here, both) as my pedicure colour, both are the best!
L’Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Volume Expand Root Lift Spray (review) gets an honourable mention. I’ve been using it every time I washed my hair and id did give me a nice subtle volumizing effect. I am trying to use it up so that I can buy some of the karestase volumizing hair products. By the way, I think this spray has a different name now.
As for skincare, I have to mention Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm (review) which was a favourite last month, as well. This cleanser not only smells amazing, does it’s job, but also can be used as a mask.
Two Clarins products made it to favourites list Clarins Special Eye Contour Balm Dry Skin (review) and Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner (review). The first one was my under-eye area best friend, and the second one gently exfoliated the skin.
And, of course, how I could not include REN Omega 3 Optimum Skin Serum Oil (review). I have mentioned it so many times that I won’t repeat myself.
