This week I got the information about Spring/Summer 2010 Jelly collection by butter LONDON. Probably most of you already know this information and alredy bought those nail polishes but still let’s take a look at the collection.
Introducing Jelly by butter LONDON – an utterly unique approach to nails for Spring/Summer 2010! Soft hints of colour, which can be adjusted to compliment the diverse trends on the runway. For this season we saw ethereal fabrics and nude color, high impact sparkle, body conscious silhouettes, even flashes of striking colours such as red on the catwalk. butter LONDON wanted to reflect all these strong trends with this new collection.
So why these shades? “At first the Spring/Summer collections for 2010 left me baffled!” explains Nonie Creme, Founding Creative Director and product creator for butter LONDON. “How would I create nail shades for such a polarized season? There was a big divide between intense colour and total nudity in terms of catwalk makeup and nails. The challenge was to find a middle ground that suited both directions.”
Juicy, sheer colour that looks and feels like slick, wet “lipgloss” for your nails. These are designed to be layered, so you can wear just one coat for a hint/blush of colour and healthy glow, or two for better coverage of little nail problems and more colour, or three for juicy, barely sheer summer colours that are good enough to eat. They are also stunning when mixed and matched over one another! So many options in three bottles!
As always, the “3 Free” butter LONDON formulation offers a safer alternative to chemicals you are exposed to by other nail products. We believe in colour, not carcinogens.
Three NEW Jelly Colours:
• CHUFFED – A cool cantaloupe that becomes more of an iced tangerine with each coat.
Definition: Pleased and delighted
• STROPPY – A pale grape Jelly that becomes
You are gonna love this if you follow the story of Kate Middleton and Prince William. As you can guess this nail polish is dedicated to their wedding.
But even if you don’t, you will probably want to get a bottle of this pretty glittery nail polish which may be as popular as All Hail McQueen was.
You can pre-order this nail polish at zuneta (image of their courtesy) at the first week of March. I really wonder why butter LONDON have chosen such shade, instead of blue inspired by Kate’s ring.
There are so many amazing new nail polish releases. I have picked up three that I caught my attention.
First of all, there is this new butter LONDON Lillibet’s Jubilee Nail Lacquer which is created to celebrate Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.
It is described as a silvery, lavendar metallic foil, heavily infused with holographic glitter.
There is also a new Nails Inc Arcade collection with four sparkly nail polishes which should look nice on their own and on top of other shade.
- Piccadilly Arcade Nail Jewellery, Emerald nail jewellery
- Burlington Arcade Nail Jewellery, Diamond nail jewellery
- Royal Arcade Nail Jewellery, Sapphire
For someone who is not exactly into “nude” nail polishes, I have quite a few. I have chosen seven which could fit the nude/taupe/brown-ish category.
So what shades do I have? And which is my favourite?
Dior Vernis in Grege
I love the wide and thin brush which makes the application super easy and fast. It is a beautiful warm shade which suits me when I get some tan. But if you have a light-to-medium warm skin tone – this may be a perfect nude for you. See it applied on the nails.
MeMeMe Long Lasting Gloss in Alluring
This is one of the darkest nail polishes from the selection, and should be a nice nude for people with darker skin. Or if you want a brown nail polish against the light skin. The quality is nice for the price, too. Swatches.
Yves Rocher Nail Polish in Taupe
This is definitely not a nude, but a taupe. Such shade was super popular several years ago and I can totally see why: it goes well with pretty much everything and doesn’t compete with your outfit or accessories. Manicure with it.
MeMeMe Long Lasting Gloss in Ambitious
It looks like that
I love blush! This may be the most exciting makeup product for me, my
beauty life was forever changed when I discovered it and I never looked back.
It seems like I always have blushers on my wish list, so here are top four that I plan to get at some point in the near future. I could also add Illamasqua’s Velvet Blusher in Peaked and theBalm’s Long-Wearing Powder Staining Blush, too.
So, let’s take a look at my wish list, shall we?
I can’t believe that I still haven’t got a Bourjois blusher. I think I’d go for the shade No3 (other shades). That’s a great thing that high street brands are now releasing cream blushers, too. I hope these are as good, as my favourites from Max Factor.
