I am happy to share the look that was created by Hourglass Artistic Director Gina Brooke for the Imitation of Christ Spring 2012 runway show which took a place on the 8th September at the W Hotel at Union Square.
“The theme of the show was a super-chic wedding party and designer Tara Subkoff orchestrated the affair to seem like a lighthearted walk down the aisle. To accompany the distinctly romantic and playful mood, Brooke devised a look that showcased flawless skin, vivid eyes and pale lips. “It’s about clean, beautiful and memorable makeup—it is a wedding after all,” says Brooke. “This look is timeless, it’s never going to go out of style.”
Even the inspirations testified to the classic motif: Elizabeth Taylor in A Place in the Sun (1951), Grace Kelly in To Catch A Thief (1955), and Catherine Deneuve in The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, a 1964 French musical.”
- Each model was prepped with a new Primer Serum, launching in Summer 2012, which treats your skin as it prepares it for makeup. It is a silky, luxurious oil blend that glides on to create a retexturized surface for foundation, hydrates the complexion and triggers a sensory experience with a host of fragrant essential oils. Unfortunately, I did not have time to schedule a review for today so here is a sneak preview of the products that I plan to review in the future.
I thought it would be better to post at least a photo instead of nothing.
The products are: terre D’Or Milky Perfume Cloud, Jo Malone Blackberry and Bay Cologne, Daniel Sandler glosses, Clarins face powder, Hourglass Lash Lacquer, Inglot eye shadows, Alessandro nail polish, Elemis eye serum.
Believe it or not, but it actually took me hours and hours to complete this list, as I had to think carefully about what products I really want or what products I actually need.
This is not really a wish list, but more of a shopping list of the products that I plan to buy in the near future. Of course, I could add more, but I’ve decided to be very strict with myself so every item got on the list after a lot of consideration and is very covetable…
So here is the list!
1. Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil in Soft Brunette, £26
I have almost finished my Benefit eye pencil and I am definitely getting an Hourglass one next.
2. Matte Eye Shadows Palette
I can’t decide if I should get the Too Faced Matte Eye Shadow Collection (£24.57 from Beauty Bay) or theBalm Meet Matte ($42 from the brand’s website, but they are in the process of creating a European shop, as well). I actually really love the eye shadow quality from both brands: Too Faced Natural Eye Palette Review and Swatches, theBalm Nude Tude Eye Shadows Palette Review and Swatches and the Balm Shady Lady Palette Vol.2 Review and Swatches so that’s a hard one. I only wish Too Faced palette weren’t so bulky. Maybe I should get both?!
3. Cream Blusher
That is probably the last thing that I need, considering how many I have but I’ve decided that I can get one, as a treat for myself. After a lot of consideration, I’ve chosen Stila’s Stila Convertible Colour (I actually can’t believe that I still haven’t tried it!) I think I’ll get Rose or Lillium (£15.12 from Beauty Bay)
Now this is the category of the products that I need. There are a lot of skincare products that I want and the list is endless but these
Seeing all those new and innovative lipstick formulas couldn’t make me happier, like this one from Givenchy, new releases from Hourglass and Too Faced seem to be very promising, too.

In the beauty world full of lip crayons Hourglass did their own interpretation. And how gorgeous do they look? A totally new sophisticated level!
