So, as promised (read part 1 here), here are some makeup tips on how to look your best for when you are tired but still want to make the best out of your appearance. In part one, I have shared all my tips about the complexion and now it’s time for makeup itself.
I find that the way your eye brows look makes a huge difference in your appearance, as they frame your face. Just make sure that you don’t create a very dark or harsh shape, unless you are going for a dramatic look. Just feel in any gaps you may have and cheat the shape slightly, if you wish to. I like Anastasia’s kit with the powders and wax.
Curl your lashes! Now this is a very important step. I have already shared that it took me years (WHY?) to get decent curlers, shu’s of course, although all the Top MUAs always raved about curling your lashes. I should have invested earlier, as they [curlers] make a huge difference. They do open up your eyes! I refuse to be without mine now.
As for the eye shadows, I would suggest
Two luxury makeup brands launched new eye products.
Cream eye shadows – Perfect Mono from Dolce & Gabbana with a high concentration of oils and silicone and silk elastomers. There are eight matte shades and six pearl, all of them are inspired by the Mediterranean.
- Pearl: 10 Innocence, 20 Goldust, 50 Bronze 90 Amore, 100 Dahlia, 130 Stromboli.
- Matte: 30 Nude, 40 Desert, 60 Cocoa, 70 Sage, 80 Elegance, 110 Indaco, 120 Coffee, 140 Lava.
New cream eye shadows is always a good launch, and I love the look of Dahlia personally.
As for Lancome, their mascaras are
Best of Beauty Master List. After testing thousands of beauty products, Allure named their 182 undisputed favorites. I’ve picked some items from the list and I will tell you why these products. Part 1 about Makeup products. Part 2 Skin and Hair Care.
Lancôme Galatée Comforting Milky Cream Cleanser ($30 to $47, depending on size) is a soothing, moisturizing lotion.
Why I picked this item: I have dry skin and I know that Lancome’s skin care is really worth trying
Johnson’s Softlotion Extra Care Healing Lotion ($4.99) smells powdery and a touch sweet, like the skin of a five-month-old. A few pumps is all you need to cover your entire body.
Why I picked this item: I LOVE their products and I am using some of them right now. But I never tried this one before.
Helioplex? In a hand cream? Say no more. Neutrogena Age Shield Hand Cream SPF 30 ($5.99) absorbs in an instant, leaves our hands smooth for hours, and wards off sun spots.
Why I picked this item:
Let’s take a look at another Fall 2011 makeup collection. This time it’s by Lancome and it is called 29, St.Honoré in honour of the Lancome’s boutique which is situated there.
I have to say that I like the red lips and nails and the cat eyes, such a classy makeup.
This collection was created by Aaron de May and he was obviously inspired by Paris and Lancome’s boutique.
The star product of the collection is definitely a blush called Maison Lancome with pink and gold shades decorated with Eiffel’s Tower and a Lancome’s logo.
Three red lipsticks in Rouge 29, Rouge Saint-Honore and Rouge Faubourg.
The eye shadows in 02 Blondette Fatale look very wearable and pretty.
There are also two nail varnishes: the red one called 22 Rouge Saint-Honore and the black one called 23 Noir 29.
Plus a black Artliner which is not a new product.
