The first month of 2016 is already behind us. How does it feel? Was it a good one? Are you ready for the rest of 2016? Do you stick to your resolutions? 😉
It was a pretty good month beauty-wise for me, and here are the products I’ve been loving:
Nivea Nourishing Body Lotion For Very Dry Skin and a shower cream from this line. My Dad (!) actually got these two for me for Christmas, and I am really touched that he actually got the right products for my skin type. I usually take them with me when I go swimming but use them on a daily basis, too. I love how soft and smooth my skin feels afterwards, and how nice it smells. Considering how quickly I go through body creams and lotions it is nice to have something budget-friendly, as well.
Jo Malone Red Roses Cologne
I honestly don’t understand how could I miss the fact that Jo Malone discontinued Vanilla & Anise (and WHY would they do it?) so I am left with a half bottle only. At least I can still get this scent. Red Roses is definitely not for everyone, some of my friends laugh that I smell like a rose jam whenever I use it, and it may be a bit weird to smell like this when you wear a lot of black, leather, and red… but hey, life is supposed to be fun. I also have a candle which I adore as much as the cologne.
CND Solar Oil
I was getting gel manicure for about 6 months non-stop but once I was too busy to go to my manicurist who is absolutely amazing but works far away from my home (and work, too), and had to rush to the nearest salon as my nails were looking disgusting at that point. I can’t believe how
What is written:
NIVEA VISAGE GENTLE WATERPROOF EYE MAKE-UP REMOVER has been specifically designed for the sensitive eye area to thoroughly remove waterproof eye make-up & long lasting lipstick, without leaving any greasy residues. Its mild formula gently hydrates the delicate eye area. Result: the sensitive eye area is gently cleansed, protecting the eye-lashes.
What do I think:
Now my aim was not to tell you the winner in each nomination. Like best lipstick/gloss/liner etc. I just wanted to mention the products that really impressed me this year. So this is why you have 4 lipsticks, lip gloss and a balm.
Here we go…
Hourglass Femme Rouge Lipstick (luxury)
Now this is the best lipstick that I’ve tried in a long time. It seems that it’s impossible not to like it! I know that so many of you are waiting for a review, so stay tuned for it in 2011 to find out why I like it so much.
Revlon Matte Lipstick
I love matte lipsticks, I really do. And I find that these lipsticks by Revlon are pretty amazing especially for the price. Just make sure that your lips are in a nice condition before you use this or any other matte lipstick. To tell the truth, I wouldn’t mind having the whole range. Red review here and see the lip swatches here.
Rimmel Colour Show Off Lipstick
Yet another matte and affordable lipstick. I’ve got myself 3 shades and I adore them all. This lipstick is super pigmented and stays on for a very long time, the price is also a bonus. I wish they had the other design but that’s not the most important thing really.
Inglot Gel Lipstick
These lipsticks are amazing, the gel texture is brilliant, it’s quite
Last time I wrote about my favourites was in February so it is time a for an update.
I’ve collected some of the things I have been loving the most in the last several months, so since there are quite a few items I’ve divided this feature in two parts, and we’ll start with beauty.
I am a huge fan of the brand, and their products really work for me. While they are quite expensive, I think it is worth the investment, as you only have one face, and you can definitely see the difference with Omorovicza. I have been using both products since March and the serum is practically gone, while there is still at least half of the bottle of the cream. I have dry and sensitive skin, and I am in my early 30s, and I can tell that the skin is smooth and glowing (there is an instant effect straight after the application), it also helped battling the tight, grey and flaky post-winter skin. On top of it, I personally love the scent, sensation and the design. And, yes, when you are paying this much every detail matters. I am now eyeing one of their cleansers. By the way, I have also been loving this cream skincare wise a lot in the last several months.
Speaking of cleansers, I’ve almost used up Darphin Aromatic Cleansing Balm (from Look Fantastic, Nordstrom, House Of Fraser) which is a cult product in the industry already. And let me tell you – rightly so. First of all, as the name suggests, it smells absolutely incredible, there is something soothing and relaxing about using it at the end of the day, it is like a well deserved “me time”. I also love the cleansing properties and how soft it makes my skin feel. While I never remove my eye makeup with this type of cleansers, I find that it does the job of removing face makeup really well, and it is a great product for a facial massage. In fact, in April we had some quality time with my girlfriends and we were all doing a 20 minute facial massage with this gem, and I can testify that they all were hooked as well.
June was a very busy month for me, so I did not discover/rediscover that many beauty products, however, I truly love the ones I am mentioning, they are real gems.
This is one of the best base products I have ever used. I am convinced it is some kind of Magyar mágia (Hungarian magic), as it makes the face look flawless, radiant and even younger. As I have mentioned in my original review, my friend was very skeptical about my big love for this, but after trying mine, she ordered one the next day. I personally think that you can’t really go wrong with Omorovicza products in general. They are very expensive but are worth it.
I should really write detailed reviews about the Charlotte Tilbury products. Both of these were a present from a friend, and I am happy she thought of me. Legendary Lashes mascara creates absolutely incredible lashes: full, voluminous and long. Not that many mascaras will give you this effect. However, it smudges like crazy, and unless I use it with a waterproof top coat – I will end up with mascara on my upper lids. But I am kind of ready to forgive this for the effect I get. Colour Chameleons were
