Since I am posting all those Holiday Gift Guides, it seemed like a cool idea to share my own wish list. And this is not only beauty but pretty much everything that I want. I would actually really want to know what is on top of your wish list this year, so do share.
What I Saw: Reports from Berlin, 1920-1933 by Joseph Roth, £6 from Amazon UK and $16.95 from Amazon. I read some of his reports about Vienna, and loved them. So the ones about Berlin are on my wish list, too.
Pretty Iconic: A Personal Look at the Beauty Products that Changed the World by Sali Hughes, £12.50 from Amazon UK and $14 from Amazon. I don’t really read that many beauty related websites/books these days, but I did read Sali’s first book, and would like this one, too.
It’s time for monthly favourites! And this time I’ve decided to mention only those products that I have been really loving. Somehow I have re-discovered 17 Sheer Moisture Foundation which is now discontinued but which has been my base of choice lately, as it gives that beautiful light and glowing finish.
The other product which is not shown is Garnier HandRepair Intensive Restoring Hand Cream because I have used it all up. And, just like the body cream, this one is brilliant.Works wonders on my very dry hands and feet, it improved the condition [of my skin] dramatically, moisturized and nourished.
Clarins Joli Rouge Lipstick in 738 Royal Plum (review and lip swatches)
I have an old version of the lipstick but I will have a few samples of the new Joli Rouge to review and compare them for you. This is an amazing product! The sheer formula can be built up, or worn as a barely-there stain. And this the most beautiful dark plum, looks gorgeous on the lips, have been wearing it non-stop.
The only other makeup product is the new Rouge Bunny Rouge Naked Disguise Glide Concealer. And this, without a doubt, is now one of my favourite concealers ever. The texture is light but at the same time it transforms the under eye area by brightening and covering the dark circles. It doesn’t look or feel heavy and doesn’t set into the fine lines. I like the brand’s description “your skin but better”, and I agree.

What do I think
Father’s Day is just around the corner but what is even more important to me; it’s my Father’s birthday tomorrow.
Both events inspired me to write this post. This is not really a Father’s Day gift guide as almost all the on-line shops have one, this is just a post about favourite grooming products of my men. By my men I mean my father, male friend and my younger brother.
So a must have for my Dad is Vichy Capital Soleil Homme Body Spray with SPF30.
It is his second bottle actually. My Dad is not really a sun protection fan, he just has sun allergy so he must use a sun protection. I have big doubts he would bother if allergy was not the case. He tried a lot of sun protection products from Bioderma to La Roche-Posay and he says that this one is his favourite because it’s clear and not sticky so that he can use it on the go. Plus it’s a spray so it’s very easy to use.
Who knows, maybe you can convince your man to use a sun protection with a help of this product.
My friend loves his L’Oreal Professionnel shampoos.
There is a small but important detail that I should mention
I know that a lot of you get the skincare products for your men: husbands, boyfriends, fathers, brothers; even male friends, sometimes. So I though this would be appropriate to share about Vichy Homme Anti-Fatigue Hydrating Care For Face and Eyes, as it got a seal of approval from my brother.
He ran out of his Clarins and, although I usually get his face products myself, this time I took him along so that he could take a part, too 😉
Apparently he chose the Vichy cream because it had the darkest packaging and looked very manly. So there you go!
Me: “How cool, this cream is formulated both for face and eyes!”
Him: “Oh, please, it’s not like I did not use other creams underneath my eyes.”
I usually have to ask
