I am really in love with the promo photos for Givenchy Christmas 2012 makeup collection called Contes de Noël.
Butterflies are not a very common thing for the holiday season but I think they make the presentation of the collection so gorgeous and unique!
Here is what Nicolas Degennes, International Artistic Director, says:
“My gift is a luxurious case containing a prism with opaline reflections. Each woman can enjoy it in her own way, playing with the light and transparency to her advantage… evolving from morning softness to lunar enchantment, or vice-versa. Intense lightness. Gentle energy. The light of darkness.”
This collection includes:
LE PRISME ENCHANTÉ Embellishing Luminous Powder – Face & Blush, £42 / €65.50
This is my personal favourite product, I bet such shades look beautiful and refreshing on and I also love the packaging a lot!
Makes me want a Givenchy bag even more.
L’ARGENT CÉLESTE & L’OR CÉLESTE Starry Loose Powder Scintillating Body, £43.50 / €65.50
This would make a great present for any makeup lover, a luxurious packaging would look beautiful on the vanity table. These airy-textures powders with different-sized pearlescent particles can be used on the body, hair and on the eyes, dabbed with fingers.
Comes in two shades: silver and gold.
I honestly do not think that YSL makeup collection Northern Lights could be more beautiful. Aurora Borealis with it’s unique colours and shades was the inspiration for Lloyd Simmonds.
This is my favourite YSL beauty promo of this year, definitely. So elegant and chic.
Here is what he says:
“The Aurora Borealis, or northern lights, are incredibly vivid and I have many memories of witnessing this magical spectacle from my childhood. Their lights inspired me to create this collection of intense colours, shot through with violet and midnight blue and sprinkled with slivers of pearl, like a star-filled night.”
It is one of my dreams to see Northern Lights! How gorgeous is that?!
But back to the collection, the products are:
Golden Gloss (£22) – No55 N°55, glacial blue with a fresh, transparent highlight and N°56, snow white with pearly, lunar highlights.. These are my favourite, they capture Aurora Borealis perfectly, in my opinion.
Star product of the collection – Boréal Palette Polar Night – Highlighter Powder (£39.50, LE)
La Laque Couture Top Coat (£18) No33 Premiere Nege, a sparky top coat.
Pure Chromatics (£39, LE) No12 Boréal Palette Arctic Night, comes with a
Too Faced is the other brand, besides Benefit, that makes beautiful Holiday sets. I still use and love the one I have got for myself back in 2010.
Their collections are always very girly and glamorous and, although this is not my style as all, I like the quality and the products a lot. They bring the fairy tale into your life, as cheesy as it sounds.
Here is what the brand has to offer this year.

I am very excited about the new A England nail polish collection, called Gothic Beauties! I love everything about it actually, name, shades, the whole idea behind it.
I have already written about Bridal Veil and Perceval and this time I plan on getting Jane Eyre and Saint George (from the Legend collection). I also can’t wait for crimson/cerise/burgundy/red shades in the future!
Here is a close up of the collection, each nail polish retails for £9 and the shipping is free Worldwide! My blog friend Eugenia has beautiful swatches and descriptions of the whole collection!
