It will be easier to say what brand is not bringing out a new foundation/base product for SS16 (a lot of cushions and foundations with a dropper). But I am personally most excited about BECCA, hands down. They just know what a good base is and they always deliver.
Let’s take a look at the new products.
BECCA Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation ($44 from Sephora)
“A light, buildable foundation that imparts subtle luminosity with a weightless feel. Every weightless drop of fluid imparts subtle luminosity that blurs imperfections and leaves a soft-focused glow. ”
There are 8 shades in the line from Fair to Deep Bronze (both shown above).
Here is actually a video that demonstrates the foundation really well.
“Infused with three unique Filtering Luminescent Pearls, each one adds a different drop of diffused light. Blended
Spring is the time for new lipstick releases, as we could see in the previous years. And we can see the same situation for SS16, too.
I have already posted about the new releases from Clarins and YSL. But there are just so many more coming out our way – think Guerlain, Lancome, Chanel, Tom Ford, Givenchy, Clinique, Estee Lauder, Armani and more.
Today let’s take a look at three of them: Chanel, Tom Ford and Givenchy.
Chanel Rouge Coco Stylo (Complete Care Lipshine) ($37 from Chanel)
“The intensity of a lipstick, the shine of a lipgloss and the comfort of a lip balm — all in one creamy yet lightweight formula. This innovative formula is enriched with nourishing Apple Seed Extract and hydrating Jojoba Oil and Coconut Oil. Silk Powder, Beeswax and special ingredients help visibly smooth, plump and add brilliant 3D shine to the lips.”
Available in 8 shades, the one shown above is
I have already posted a preview of the Rouge Bunny Rouge new foundation on Facebook but I actually have samples of all shades now. And something else which looks absolutely incredible. It is the most exciting launch from the brand in the last several years, in my opinion. And it will definitely be a best-seller.
And I am talking about the Eye Shadow Palette in 086 Antigo which is a gorgeous palette with four nude wearable shades. The compact, pattern, shades – it is all perfection. I will definitely post all the details and swatches soon.
As for the foundation which is called Skin Soul Drops – it is available in three shades. It comes in a chic small (15 ml) glass bottle with a dropper. I have already used it several times and the first impression is that it gives a matte finish and a good coverage (which can be built up or sheered down, depending on your preference).
You just need a
I have already posted about some new lipstick launches but what about the eye shadows? Here is a selection of the most luxurious ones: Cle de Peau, Chantecaille and Tom Ford. Cream or powder, single or palette – the choice is yours. Let’s take a look.
Cle pe Peau are launching brand new Cream eye color solo – ombre crème solo ($45 / 6g) which are “dewy cream eye shadow that transforms into a silky powder”, and they look gorgeous. I wonder what is the shade of that burgundy one from Lucia Pieroni’s Insta photo. Is it 301? Probably, not.
Powder eye color solo limited edition – ombre poudre solo ($45 / 1g) “A silky soft long-lasting eye shadow that comes in three textures: shimmery, semi-matte and matte.”
Chantecaille Le Magnolia Eye and Cheek Palette ($83/£74)
Givenchy La Revelation Originelle Spring 2016 makeup collection is exactly what we all need in January. Gorgeous highlighter, and refreshing pink for lips, nails and cheeks. There are also a brown eye liner, grey mascara and colourful eye shadows.
The star of the collection is definitely the uber gorgeous illuminator Poudre Lumiere Originelle (£41.50), an enhancing powder for an imperceptible, soft focus finish. It is a light pink highlighter that leaves the skin radiant and luminous. Quite possibly the most beautiful powder of the season.
There is also a new shade of the cult Le Prisme Blush (£32) in 41 Lune Rosée which combines the following shades: peach, light pink, rose pink and coral. Seems like another must have to perk up the complexion.
I love the idea of the brand’s Mister Scrub (£22 ) which is a gentle exfoliator in a stick format and Mister Gentlebalm (£22) which is a lip balm that combines a moisture booster and a colour enhancer to nourish, hydrate and naturally reveal lip colour.
The nail polish in this collection is the pastel pink Le Vernis (£17) in 29 Rose Divin
