I love looking through ads in fashion magazines. That is probably my favourite thing to do when it comes to magazines to tell the truth. I was actually surprised that I am not the only one according to your reaction on Twitter.
So I thought I’d show the latest makeup ads that I really loved.
The first one is the promo photo with Scarlett Johansson for the new Dolce & Gabbana mascara which is called Secret Eyes.
Her makeup is so classy and elegant and the outfit is very Dolce & Gabbana, love it. And I just like everything about this photo in general.
I am sorry for the lines, I had to scan this photo from the magazine.
The other one is this one with
Looks like that Purple is the new black this autumn! So I wanted to find a great purple look. I just loved this one created by Troy Jensen for Rachel McAdams. Do you want to create it yourself? He used Lilac Sky by Yves Saint Laurent.
What Fall Collections can you check out to get purple eye shadows or eye liners and create such look yourself? I am here to help you! Let’s start:
For Meester’s flawless skin, touch up your blemishes with Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage concealer and smooth Smashbox.Photo Finish primer over your face for a red carpet ready glow. Top off with L’Oreal Paris Bare Naturale gentle mineral blush in Sugar. Plum for a nice sheer-tint.
Meester’s makeup artist gave her a smokey look with dark shadow on her eyelids and lighter shadow on the crease.Try Chantecaille Shine Eye Shadow Powder in Pyrite and Chantecaille Irridescent Eye Shade in Aqua. Apply the taupe to the crease and the blue to the lid, then apply M.A.C Eye Kohl eyeliner in Smolder to the inner lid and finish off with Dior DiorShow Mascara in Black, for that wide-eyed diva effect.
Sheer pinks work well with Meester’s colouring. Try Benefit Peace Love & Glossiness lip gloss set for that perfect sexy but subtle look!
We’re used to seeing her as Blair Waldorf, wearing headbands in Gossip Girl, but here Meesteris sporting a quick and easy up-do. To get the look that her hairstylist Charles Baker Strahan created, pull back blow-dried locks and pin up with several bobby pins. Finish the look by spraying with hairspray -try Kerastase Double Force hairspray with UV filters and fixing polymers.
Celebrity Makeup Artist Kristofer Buckle used Dior Beauty products to create the look for Blake Lively( S from Gossip Girl) at the 2009 61st Emmy Awards.
How to get the look
Skin: DiorSkin Airflash Spray Foundation in #301, Dior Skinflash #3 around the eyes.
Lips: Dior Serum de Rouge Lipstick as a base with Dior Lip Polish in Radiance Expert on top.
Eyes: DiorShow Blackout Mascara, Dior 5-Colour Eyeshadow in Beige Messai#705
Cheeks: DiorBronze Original Tan in Amber Tan #03
This is what Kristofer Buckle says about the look
“I used a lot of warm, honey colors on her skin and lips to make her green eyes pop.
Then I topped off the look with tons of DiorShowBlackout Mascara, which transformed her upper and lower lashes into expressive frames. I used Dior Eye Show in Undressed Beige on Blake’s cheekbones and shoulders to create an ethereal glow,” said Buckle.
It’s technically an eyeshadow but it works basically anywhere you want to reflect the light!”
Hot to get the hairstyle:
Christina Hendricks looked beautiful at the Emmy’s 2010 and I’ve got the details about her look. This look was created by Make-up Artist Vanessa Scali and was inspired by Mia Farrow’s Daisy Buchanan from “The Great Gatsby”
Vanessa prepped the skin with Lancôme’s La Base Pro makeup primer. To perfect Christina’s already luminous skin, Vanessa used the new Teint Miracle Lit-From-Within foundation . “It has an amazing transparent quality that leaves the skin looking flawless and luminous without being shiny,” said Vanessa. “I applied it with a brush and then blended with my fingers.” Blending with her fingers heated up the foundation a bit, allowing for a seamless finish. Vanessa followed with Effacernes Concealer under the eyes, her “all time favorite concealer.”
For a fresh pop of color I used Blush Subtil Shimmer in Shimmer Pink Pool on the apples of her cheeks. Dabs of Giorgio Armani Beauty’s Fluid Sheer #2 highlighted Christina’s cheekbones.
The eye shadow was mix of YSL’s Ombre Solo Eyeshadow in
