Alexander Skarsgård. The New Face of Encounter by Calvin Klein

Calvin Klein did a very smart thing! They’ve asked our favourite Swede Alexander Skarsgård (and Lara Stone) to be the ‘face’ of the new perfume called  Encounter.

It was also very smart of them to make an announcement  just before the premiere of the True Blood season 5. Speaking of True Blood, I don’t care that much about the show, for me Eric/Alexander is the only reason worth watching it and I am pretty sure I am not alone.

This is a big score for the company. I can already imagine thousands of women wanting to get these perfume for their husbands/boyfriends.

But back to the perfume… Encounter is out in September so I did not get the prices just yet.

Beauty Inspiration: Dark Lips

It’s not a secret that I am a huge fan of dark but wearable lips. So after looking at the close-ups of the makeup from the MET Gala 2012, I have chosen my favourite looks.

One of my favourites is this look on Lana del Rey, how gorgeous does she look?  Flawless skin, beautiful contouring, impeccable eye makeup and the lip shade is just perfection!

Then there are also Kate Bosworth and Camilla Belle. Kate, who usually wears a ‘barely-there-makeup’ is rocking that dark lipstick. Bravo, Kate! The brows are also to die for.  Only what’s with the hair?!

As for Camilla, her Mak-Up Artist is a genius (I’d love to know who did her makeup) for choosing that lip colour. I assume that is a customized shade, but who knows. It is so unique, bold and really stands out. Such shade could be a total disaster but it worked out amazingly and it definitely catches attention.

Beauty Related Things That Inspired Me This Week. Vol. 10

I was very busy with work this week so did not have that much time to browse beauty related photos and stuff but here are some things that caught my attention. And this post won’t be only about beauty…

First of all, the May cover of Elle magazine (UK) with Emily Blunt. I absolutely adore Emily and Elle is probably the only magazine that I buy quite often so I am happy about that.

I am  also excited about the new film from Woody Allen which is called To Rome With Love! If you have seen Vicky Cristina Barcelona  and Midnight in Paris  and loved those you will probably get excited, too.

And what about this gorgeous Dolce &  Gabbana AW  collection and makeup? Watch a video with Pat McGrath telling about the products she used.

I find these graphic cat eyes fo

Beauty Related Things That Inspired Me This Week. Vol 9

It’s been a while since I did a feature like this… So here are some images that inspired me this week! I could post so much more but here are a few of my favourites.

Here’s the first look on the Dita Von Teese’s makeup collection for ArtDeco which should be available from June.

I absolutely love the eye makeup of Victoria Beckham on the cover of the May 2012 issue of UK Harper’s Bazaar.

Here is a also a story called ‘Dinner with Dolce & Gabbana’ from US Harper’s Bazaar April 2012. Photographer: Terry Richardson, Stylist: Andrew Richardson, Hair: Malcolm Edwards, Makeup: Lucia Pica.

All the girls look amazing: dresses, makeup and style, very Dolce & Gabbana!
