Being a fan of Max Factor I was excited at the opportunity to try their new Excess Intensity Longwear Liners. After using them for over a month now, I am happy to share my opinion, and show you the swatches of all six shades.
They all come in a nice black tube packaging, and a lid is actually matching the shade of the pencil, which is very handy. I also like the fact that you don’t need to sharpen these, you just need to twist to get more product out.
As you can see from the photo, the liner are relatively slim, so you can get a precise line, if you wish.
I personally really loved the formula, the pencils are soft and smooth, they don’t drag the skin and glide on easily. The lasting power is also pretty impressive, but I don’t have oily lids, and the the products usually do stay on me rather well in general.
Besides the staying power, I love the colours, the products live up to their name – Excess Intensity, the shades are very pigmented and look
So here is the first Hourglass product that I am going to review. It is a Calligraphy Liquid Eye Liner.
It is a “refined felt-tip precision eye liner designed to create striking, defined eyes without tug or skip.” This is a best selling products from the brand (along with their primer and foundation).
Now I do love my Illamasqua Precision Inks but these from Hourglass have a different applicator so it’s a different story.
What do I like about this product:
The best thing is that it’s easy to apply it! It has a precise and steady applicator so it’s unlikely that you will make a mess. I use mine to draw a very precise line as close to my eye lashes as I can to get that defined look. I usually just draw a very fine line.
It’s waterproof and
Today I’d like to review MAC’s Fluidline. I have only one shade and it is called Blacktrack which is black.
This is how the design looks like and I really like that it is glass because for some reason I love glass more that plastic.
As usual I will tell you why you may like or dislike it!
Reasons to Like it:
- It has a nice and simple design plus it’s very small and travel-friendly.
- If you are new to the liners, it’s much easier to work with the gel liner than a liquid one.
- You can remove it even when it’s dry, so don’t worry if the line is not perfect.
- Although the jar is quite small you get enough of product.
- It’s a true black colour and you can get thin or thick line, whatever you want.

Why you may not like it:
After Rouge Bunny Rouge changed the nib of my all-time favourite Raven Glaze Lacquer liner a quest for a new option began. And, although I like using really thin pen eye liners (or gel ones) on others, I am very particular about the ones I use on myself.
And it is a good liner, I have nothing bad to say about it. I did enjoy using it on a daily basis. It stayed on for the whole working day without smudging (my eye lids are not oily), the liner was very easy to apply and it did not drag the skin.
I only wish it
Laura Mercier’s Kohl Eye Pencils are favourites of a lot of people and I can totally see why.
I have five (mini) pencils and would like to show them to you today.
The colours that I have are: Black Violet, Brown Copper, Stormy Grey, Stone Slate and Black Gold. And here is how they looks like.
These have a very soft and creamy texture and glide on easily, without dragging the skin. They have a fantastic pay off and gorgeous colours. Yes, the colours are definitely fantastic, all five of them! I imagine that blue and green shades are to die for, as well!
I would suggest kohl pencils for a quick smoky eye, you could use them on their own or with the eye shadows on top, looks great either way.
