Clarins make the best lip products, so I knew that their version of lip crayons, which came out as a part of summer’s Colours of Brazil collection, would be amazing.
Clarins’ Lip Crayons have a luminous glossy finish, and give just enough of “statement” on the lips . They are basically like a balm in a stick form that give you a pretty pop of colour for summer. I find that
Nude lip products aren’t something that I get excited about, but the new Max Factor Colour Elixir Gloss collection called Nude Pomade are pretty awesome.
This limited edition release was created by an amazing MUA Caroline Barnes, and they actually are a homage to Mr Max’s first ever lip gloss, Lip Pomade, which he created in 1920’s.
There are four shades, and here is Caroline’s inspiration behind each one, and also her tips. Plus my comments.
10 Pristine Nude
Caroline: “This is an ultimate nude lip colour and it should be part of every woman’s make-up bag. Suiting all skin tones, it’s my make-up staple. It will perk up your look and create a natural, healthy look when you’re feeling lacklustre.”
Actually, this lip gloss is now a part of my makeup bag, too. It is sheer enough so that my natural lip colour shows through plus it is not a concealer like “dead looking” dated nude. It has pretty mauve/pink undertones, and should look amazing on a lot of women. My personal favourite.
15 Radiant Rose
Caroline: “This shade conveys an expensive lips – with accents of champagne it’s the most subtle gloss in my collection. It will have an incredible lip shaping appearance with its gold flecks and will suit all skin tones.”
This is a beautiful warm-toned shimmering lip gloss, which I personally love paired with matte eye makeup and a liner, it adds just the right amount of glow, plus it makes the
I have promised a lip swatch of one of my favourite lip products – BM Beauty Mineral Lip Gloss in Nude. So here it is…
BM beauty?! Yes, it is not the brand that you hear about very often. I was sent some of their products a long time ago, and I felt absolutely in love with the brush and lip gloss (you can read a feature here).
I already wrote about the gloss, so won’t repeat myself, but it really is unlike anything else that I have. Maybe it’s because I don’t really have any experience with mineral indie lip products?!
Rouge Bunny Rouge make nice lip products, including glosses – Lip Gloss Gleaming Temptations and Glassy Gloss Sweet Excesses and, although I liked them both, the newest addition to the range – SWELL BLISS XXX Lip Plump is definitely my favourite!
I love absolutely everything about this product actually:
It looks glossy and shiny when applied, the formula is hydrating, it contains Jojoba Wax, Olive Oil Extract and Vitamin E and feels lovely on the lips. It smells fresh and minty and tastes (don’t ask) nicely, too.
But does it really volumizes/plumps the lips? I think
It is probably too early to write about berry lip products but, for some reason, I have been talking (with my girlfriends) about such shades quite a lot recently.
This is why I’ve decided to pick some of my favourites from those that I have with different finishes and price point, so there is something for everyone.
So here we go…
Clarins Joli Rouge Lipstick in 738 Royal Plum
I have written about this lipstick only recently. It is a part of the upcoming Clarins’ Fall collection. It is a gorgeous plum shade with a satin finish. Not very intense but not sheer at all, just spot on!
butter LONDON Lippy in La Moss
I absolutely love the name and the vampy shade of this gloss, so sexy! Just keep in mind that the application can be a bit tricky, it takes time to get an even coverage. But it’s so worth it! Dark vinyl lips, perfect for those who are not afraid to go for it.
ArtDeco Lip Laquer 40 Rosy Tribute
This is a lighter in shade and
