I am not a big fan of all those “get in shape in 10 days” and “bikini ready in a week” features which are all over the Internet and in press every summer. But there are ways to make your skin look “summer ready”, as cliche as it sounds. And, since it is a beauty website, here is a step by step guide on what products and procedures I swear by.
I am a big fan of dry skin brushing, and I know that a lot of models swear by it, too. My personal favourite is definitely Elemis Skin Brush. It is not the cheapest option but really worth the money, in my opinion. I actually have two.
Coffee scrubs will also help in terms of making your skin softer and smoother. They should also help in reducing cellulite, at least I read such feedback from people who have been using them long enough.
My skin is
In the summer you have to make sure that your makeup stays in place and that’s were primers come to the rescue.
So today I want to show you one of my favourites which is Benefit Stay Don’t Stray. I have a mini version from one of the Benefit sets.
It is a nude primer which makes my eye shadows last for the whole day but I don’t really have problem with creasing anyway. I haven’t used it on the very oily eye lids, so can’t comment on that.
Plus it makes the colour look more vibrant and deep. But what makes it so special? You can actually
It’s been a while since I’ve posted about my new beauty purchases, so here they are. Besides the products on the photo, I have also bought some nail polishes but can’t show them, as one of them is for a friend who reads my posts.
So here we go…
Jack Black Double Duty Face Moisturizer SPF20 , £28
This one is, obviously, not for me. But since I know that a lot of you get skincare for your husbands/boyfriends, brothers, fathers and other men in you life, I try to post the things that I pick up for the men in my life. My brother likes Jack Black, so I thought I’d pick up this moisturizer for him to try out. By the way, he absolutely loved the Collistar cream. One of the best he ever used, would definitely recommend.
NEOM Organic Treatment Candle Refresh, £15
This candle is with the notes of Sicilian Lemon & Fresh Basil essential oils
It’s not a secret that my favourite mascara of all times is Hypnose by Lancome but I like trying new mascaras from time to time.
While a lot of people say that it’s a waste of money to buy a high-end mascara I have to disagree because I personally see a HUGE difference in a high-end and drugstore mascara. Yes, I do love Max Factor mascaras and some others are not so bad but they can’t replace the high-end mascaras for me. But I am talking about my own lashes. On some other people I can’t really tell the difference.
And I am obviously not trying to say that all the high-end mascaras are brilliant but most of those that I’ve tried are really good and in my opinion are worth the money. Maybe if you have long and thick lashes you can get a £5 mascara and be happy with it but I am not so lucky, so I can’t.
So today I want to tell you about one of those good high-end mascaras. And it is Film Noir mascara by Hourglass Cosmetics.
I have to start with saying that I love the design so much. It is simple and elegant, just what you would expect from a mascara which retails for £20/$28.
And what is about the mascara itself?
- It is
As you already know, there are tonnes of new foundations coming out our way for AW season, so I thought I’d share about my personal new love, base-wise. Buxom Show Some Skin Weightless Foundation.
I’ve got a sample with a Sephora purchase several months ago, and totally forgot about it, until recently when I threw in some samples to try while I was visiting my family.
Before I start, I have to mention that now I have a tan (plus fake tan on top to make my skin even more “sun kissed”), and I really love experimenting with my makeup, as I can now wear different shades and colours, which usually don’t suit my skin tone.
The shade that I have is the fifth (out of ten) in the line which is Meet Me Latte ( described as “neutral beige for medium skin tones”) which is still a bit dark for me but I can make it work.
Now, the foundation is absolutely amazing! As the name suggests, it is weightless, I don’t feel it on the face, at all. It is like a hydrating tinted moisturizer. I also like that it lasts all day on me, doesn’t melt or look greasy, and I have tested it in very hot climate. But please keep in mind that I have very dry skin.
My second favourite thing is the fact that you get some serious glow! It is not shiny or glittery, but just a
