I haven’t been to LUSH in some time so I’ve decided to go and get something as a part of my Birthday treat. I’ve picked up one Christmas set with a big discount (obviously) and Rub Rub Rub.
I haven’t tried the Northern Lights soap yet but I’ve used other products several times already and want to share my opinion.
Rub Rub Rub
I personally really loved this scrub as it is such a multi-purpose product. You can use it as a scrub on a dry body, mixed with water as a scrubbing shower gel for a more gentle effect or as… shampoo!
Although it does say that you can use it on your hair I don’t think I would ever do it unless a recommendation from a friend. And, wow, I was actually really impressed with the results.
Actually when I’ve asked a lady at LUSH for her favourite product – she pointed at Rub Rub Rub. And it is lovely. Leaves the body soft and clean when used as a scrub and leaves the hair shiny and light when used as a shampoo.
The only minus is that it won’t last you for a very long time. I am through half of the bottle in less than a month. I will definitely re-purchase this product at some point.
Do you have a Lush scrub recommendations?
This is actually a seasonal shower gel but
It’s all about the hair lately for me. I’ve spent hours reading about different products and chatting with my girlfriends, some of them are actually hair dressers/stylists about various hair treatments, vitamins and masks, among other things.
As a result, I have a huge wish list and you can see some of the products here. This month I have picked up Philip B Travel Kit (I’ve got mine for £22) and I can’t wait to try it out properly.

I used to do monthly favourites but since very often I would repeat a lot of the products, it made sense to do one for each season (here is Spring). While it is mostly about beauty, I do include a few lifestyle items, as well.
In the summer I have been loving my rose fragrances, as always. My biggest obsession was Goutal Eau de Parfum Rose Pompon (as seen on my Insta) from Harrods and Bergdorf. It has the notes of Bulgarian rose essence, taïf rose, peony, blackcurrent, rasberry, pink pepper, woody cedar, patchouli and white musk. And it is just my dream scent, I never want to be without it, ever.
I personally think that very few people can actually write about perfume beautifully, and I am certainly not one of them. So for now I will just insert the brand’s description of the two perfumes I’ve been loving lately. However, I will try my best in the future.
“As you stroll down Rue des Rosiers in Paris, you can feel the vibrant, sparkling atmosphere along the cobblestone street, punctuated with the laughter from café terraces and snippets of shopkeepers’ conversations. In the spring, the climbing rose bushes flower in clusters. The wind stirs their pompom blossoms and swirls their refreshing scent with the sweet, tangy smell of pastries.” See… What is not to love?
Le Labo Rose 31 whih was my Wedding perfume
“The disturbing ambiguity of the Centifolia rose, quickly picked up by a chorus of warm, spicy and woodsy notes such as cumin, olbanum, cedar and a touch of amber…In the background, the declared sensuality of Gaïac wood and cistus highlighted by a distinctly physical animal note, give this perfume a disconcerting sense of mystery”.
R+Co Dallas Thickening Shampoo (review here)
I raved about this shampoo only recently so feel free to read all about it by clicking the link above. Unfortunately (or luckily, I suppose), it has now been replaced by a biotin version which, hopefully, is only better.

It’s time for May beauty favourites! It was very hard to narrow things down but I’ve managed to, almost.
This month I was away for two weeks (one week at one place, and then another one – different one), but I always had Elemis Skin Brush (review) with me, and I’ve used it religiously. I personally use it on the dry body, brushing towards the heart. The results are amazing, but you can read all the dets in my review linked above. I have two Elemis brushes, because I just had to! And I would definitely recommend you picking one up.
I did take a picture of only ten products on purpose, so that I don’t go on and on in this post. But I just have to mention this Rouge Bunny Rouge brush, it’s my staple now.
Dior Addict 561 Baby Rose Lipstick (review and lip swatches)
The product that I really love is Clarins Blush & Bronzing Compact (£30). It is absolutely huge, comes in a nice packaging and with a decently sized mirror. You get three shades of bronzer with one being shimmery and two – matte, there is also an apricot blush. You can use each shade individually, or mix. The texture of the blush is softer than the texture of the bronzers so when products are mixed together they give you that nice luminous glow and created that sun-kissed effect. This bronzer actually made it to my monthly favourites.
Although I have pretty light skin tone, I don’t find it to be muddy or too orange on me. But I use it lightly, obviously.
I think Blush & Bronzing Compact is a
