Ok, I am finally doing it! Writing 2015 yearly favourites that is. The thing is when I started writing this post I’ve gathered so many products that I’d be going on, and on about them all. This is why here are 15 I loved the most. 15 since it was 2015, yes, I know…
If I had to choose only 1 product that would probably be Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in 25 Alluring Rose (review and swatches)
Long-time readers know how much I love my blushers. And this year it was all about this one, I’ve barely used anything else. Creme Puff Blush gives that luminous glow that instantly brightens up the complexion. The formula is incredibly soft and smooth and blends into the skin beautifully. I have several shades but Alluring Rose is the love of my [beauty] love.
The other favourite is still my Trish McEvoy Golden Bronzer (review). As you can see from the photo above, it is very well loved. It warms up the complexion without looking orange or muddy. I like the hint of radiance it gives, too.
BECCA’s Shimmering Skin Perfector in Pearl (review) is still the best glow-and-radiance-in-a-bottle product out there. I usually mix it with foundation to make my skin look “healthy”. This formula and shade = perfection.
If I had to pick only one “foundation” of the year – that’d be Clarins HydraQuench Tinted Moisturizer (review and swatches), hands down. It is dry skin’s best friend. Clarins know how to combine skincare and makeup, and this is a perfect example. This TM gives you that natural looking base which is exactly what you want for an every day. Forget the piled on heavy mask-looking foundations.
theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer (review and swatches). Although, I have purchased this only in October, I still decided to include it in yearly favourites, as I really love it and use almost daily ever since. This highlighter gives a beautiful golden glow, which makes even the “January face” look alive.
The only nail polish product is Marc Jacobs Nail Enamored Hi-Shine Nail Lacquer in Lola (review and swatches). That red shade, formula and the design are for the win. I wanted it so much that I asked my friend to get it for me from the US Sephora back in the days (as it was the only place you could get it from then). Now I want a Smith & Cult nail polish, yes, please!
The other products, besides the Max Factor blush which I absolutely loved this year was Bobbi Brown’s Natural Brow Shaper & Hair Touch Up in Slate (review). I don’t like super graphic “Instagram approved” brows but I do like some definition and for the brows to be in place. And this gel does exactly that. Thumbs up from me.
I am a mascara snob and I usually invest in my mascaras (I love Chanel, Dior and Lancome) but this year my favourite was from Max Factor. I have actually converted some of my girlfriends, too. Max Factor Mastepiece Transform High Impact Volumising Mascara (review) is the real deal. It creates insane volume and makes the lashes look ultra black. I recommend, especially if you don’t want to spend a lot on mascara.
The next three products won’t come as a surprise, as I won’t shut up about them, but they are my desert island makeup products (not that I would need any). I have mentioned them so many times that I will just leave the links to my detailed reviews: Rouge Bunny Rouge Raven Glaze Lacquer Liner (review and swatches), Rouge Bunny Rouge Eye Shadow in Solstice Halcyon (review and swatches) and Inglot Eye Shadows AMC Shine 37 (review and swatches).
As for the lips – two baby pink products have been rocking my world in 2015 – L’Oréal Paris Color Riche Extraordinaire in 100 Mezzo Pink (review and lip swatches) and Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in 04 Petal Shimmer (review and swatches) both being absolutely fantastic with creamy and moisturizing texture.
And, of course, I could never be without a red and a berry lip products – I have been switching them all the time, but my two trusted ones are Clarins Joli Rouge Lipstick in 738 Royal Plum (review and lip swatches) and Lancome L’Absolu Rouge in 160 Rouge Hypnose (review and lip swatches). I just love the shades and the finish of them a lot.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this post, and please share your favourites! Also stay tuned for beauty favourites of 2015.
Important update: I forgot to include this lip combo somehow. But it rocked my world in 2015.
