My Top Five Base Products
I have re-organized a lot of my makeup/skincare/body care/ hair care products this month. Yes, I am still trying to think of the best storage for my nail polishes.
It was a great thing to do since I a) re-discovered a lot of products b) gave away cosmetics that I don’t use any more to my aunt c) it’s just nice to have everything neat and tidy.
I actually like keeping some of my most-used products in the Jo Malone packaging, the classic cream and black boxes fit enough of products and look nice in my flat. Above you can see my personal most used primers-bases-concealers.
Showing you my top “base” products seemed like a nice idea, so here we go:
Hourglass Illusion Tinted Moisturizer in Ivory (review and face swatches)
I did not like it that much at first, but now I absolutely adore it. It gives a good coverage for a tinted moisturizer, and is a great product for the days when (you &) your skin is tired and lacks a glow, as it evens out the skin tone and adds luminosity.
Omorovicza Complexion Perfector BB SPF 20 (review and swatches)
I could talk for ages about this product, it is that good! In fact, I even convinced my very sceptical friend that she needs and, and she did end up buying it after all. To find out what’s so special abut this BB cream, read the review.
Daniel Sandler Invisible Radiance Foundation and Concealer (review and swatches)
This is actually the only foundation from the selection. I have two shades, and I have almost used up the Beige one (I can use Ivory only during Winter when my skin is lighter). It is a great product for dry skin – it is dewy and radiant. Plus you get a concealer, too. Highly recommend!
Clarins BB Skin Perfecting Cream SPF 25 (review and swatches)
This is my favourite product for summer,it is light and non-greasy and gives a light coverage which is perfect for SS. Plus it looks nice on my tanned skin.
Rouge Bunny Rouge Tinted Moisturiser Sketches on Water (review and swatches of all shades)
If I could have only one “base” product – this would be it! It is like a skin perfector in a tube, completely undetectable! I hate those full-on cakey foundations, and this one is exactly the opposite. It gives a light coverage but somehow evens out the skin tone (you’ll need a concealer for major imperfections) and makes you look amazing!
I do realize that all the products I’ve mentioned are not the most affordable out there, but my all-time favourite high-street foundation, which I’ve used up to the very last drop, was discontinued. I am talking about Max Factor’s Second Skin. I keep hearing raves about the Bourjois CC Cream, so plan to get it soon, to see for myself if it really is worth the hype.
