New Fragrances: Illamasqua And Maison Martin Margiela
Today I want to tell you about two fragrance launches that really caught my attention.
Freak by Illamasqua is one of my favourite fragrances, so I am very excited about the newest variation – Freak Scarab.
- Top Notes: Blood Orange, Neroli Absolute and Ylang Ylang awaken and entice the senses.
- Heart Notes: Davana Oil entwines with Egyptian Jasmine, Honeysuckle and Queen of the Night to form a sensual heart.
- Base Notes: The warmth of Stewed Plum creates a distant depth, leading to the rich ancient accord of Mousse de Sax – Geranium, Anise, Moss and Leather.
The price is £85 for 75 ml, and I can’t wait to try it.
As for Maison Martin Margiela, the brand brought out a fragrance line Replica which looks to reproduce familiar scents and moments from various places and periods.
Promenade in the Garden eau de toilette, a floral scent.
Turkish rose and woody, elegant heart of patchouli allied with sandalwood and vetiver.
“Astonishing volume, starting with a crunchy greenness you can almost taste and a magisterial floral flight of fancy, leads us into the heart of an English garden.”
Lazy Sunday Morning eau de toilette, a heavy, enveloping floral fragrance.
Lily of the valley and patchouli in its purest form, melt together into a white abyss. A festival of white and creamy musk, lifted by an aldehyde note boosting the sensation of freshly washed laundry, dried-out in the blazing sunshine.
“The fresh fragrance takes its inspiration from silky-smooth skin, crumpled linen sheets and the reassuring scent of fresh laundry.”
Jazz Club eau de toilette, is woody, oriental, sweet and intoxicating.
“A rich score, with a fresh vibrato at the start and a trio of pink peppercorns, citrus and neroli. Its rum notes play with orange and bitter orange, enriched with sage. A balmy base scent, styrax is added to vanilla, tonka bean, vetiver, and tobacco leaves, lending an overall melody of leather and liquor.”
Each is £65 f0r 100ml
