Summer is like the best season to pick up 5 colours coral/orange shades, right? So here we go…
YSL 4 Audacious Orange (review and swatches)
It is my personal favourite true orange. It is like a sunshine in a jar, instantly brightens the face and I love the fact that you it doesn’t have reddish/pinkish undertones, it is a true orange. The texture is cream-to-powder and blends nicely into the skin. Plus this also wins for the most luxurious packaging.
Jouer Petal (review and swatches)
I have to admit that I did not like this cheeks and lips tint that much at first, but now I do. Although it is described as soft rose pink on the official website, I still decided to include it in this selection. Maybe because it’s like a soft peachy pink to me. The texture is sheer and not heavy.
Available from Cult Beauty.
BECCA Beach Tint in Grapefruit (review and swatches)
It’s time for monthly favourites! And this month I’ve been loving all the products that I’ve featured in May’s favourites, and several more.
Two products from Maybelline: Master Smoky Shadow Pencil in Smoky Chocolate (review and swatches) and Colorama Nail Polish in 16 Place Vendome.
The eye pencil is the a beautiful dark brown fuss-free crayon, which you apply, smudge with a sponge it comes with, and enjoy a long-lasting eye makeup. As for nail polish, I’ve been wearing it for two weeks this month, and already featured here. It is a beautiful bright and glossy fuchsia, I promise to post swatches soon.
I also have two picks from Rouge Bunny Rouge: Raven Glaze Lacquer Liner (review and swatches) and
Last week was a very busy one for me and I hardly got any sleep, so in the mornings it was a big challenge to a) get out of my bed b) look half decent. This made me analyse what products I was reaching for in such situation makeup wise.
Since you want to look radiant and glowing and not shimmering, shiny and “sweaty” don’t go overboard with the products you use. One illuminating/highlighting product is enough, and it’s up to you to decide on which stage you’d like to use one.
It can be a primer and my pick would be Illamasqua’s Satin Primer, as it gives a beautiful healthy sheen to the [dry] skin. But if sheen is not enough for you, there are a lot of primers with delicate shimmer on the market, so you can go for one of those.
Illuminating bases (foundations and tinted moisturizers) are a big hit, as you can
I love experimenting with my makeup but sometimes I get stuck in a certain routine, just like now. I have been wearing the same kind of look for the last several weeks almost every day.
So what is it all about?
For the base I’ve been usually using Clarins’ BB Cream or Rouge Bunny Rouge Tinted Moisturizer to even out the skin tone. I love that both products feel light on the skin, which is exactly what you want in summer.
I have been skipping blusher lately. Shocker, right? And instead I have been using bronzers, just any that is around, really. Below you can see pictured Clarins, Benefit and Trish McEvoy just as an example.
Finally my skin tone is a perfect match for Jouer highlighter, this warm tinted product gives a beautiful golden glow, just perfect paired with some bronzer. I definitely recommend it for a sun kissed look. As for High Beam, it is a good ol’ favourite of mine, it never fails.
I’ve been hardly using any eye shadows, expect this quad from Daniel Sandler and some matte shades. For me it’s all about the
Spring is here, so is the sunshine! And with such weather girls usually want to add some fresh and bright colours to their face. And although I personally love cool tones more (on myself), corals and peaches are the in favour of most people.
In fact, even I am wearing some of those shades today. But nothing to neon and in-your-face, so it will suit most people.
To be precise: Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream in #5, a gorgeous peach with golden shimmer on my eyes! Yes, really, I think it looks stunning on the eyes but you could wear it on the cheek and lips, too. It’s such a universal product.
And Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in 05 Candy Shimmer which gives just the right amount of colour and brings some “life” to the face.
I am using a mix of blushers today but you could go for Jouer Cosmetics Cheek & Lip Tint in Petal to keep up with the whole theme.
It is fun experimenting with
