It is amazing to get unexpected beauty (and not only) presents, right? I was surprised to get the Smashbox palette from their holiday collection with this Dior palette and one more set from MAC’s Tarten Tale as a present for Christmas.
The first thing that I really like about this palette is the golden design, it looks great for holidays. Now this is not the most luxurious design but it looks nice anyway.
This is how the palette looks like inside. You get 12 eye shadows, 4 eye liners, Photo Finish Lid Primer, Mini Lash DNA Mascara and Smashbox’s step-by-step “Get-the-Look” cards.
I am sorry that several shades are used. I should have taken the photo before but I didn’t have a camera with me and I really wanted to try this palette.
I really love those “Get-the-look” cards, they are so useful to those who are not very experienced when it comes to makeup. They are also great when you have a lack of ideas and need to put on your makeup as fast as possible or want to try something new. There are 10 looks with a very easy to follow instructions. I’ve tried to create 2 looks so far (but want to try them all) and I was quite happy with the results.
And here are the swatches of the eye shadows and liners. And I really like the idea thatRead More
In the New Year I plan to pay more attention to some Asian brands because it seems that I always miss so many great products. So why not starting with shu uemura? It’s a shame that I have so very few products from the brand but I would love to change that!
Take a look at their stunning Spring 2011 collection called Morphorium. I L-O-V-E the combination of the colours the model is wearing on her eyes, isn’t is gorgeous?

‘Tis the season for the sparkly manicure, even those who don’t love glitter and sparkles started wearing those pretty nail polishes. I can spot different styles everywhere. I’ve seen so many beautiful designs so far.
I absolutely love when the nail polishes are layered, when you have a nail polish of your choice as a base and different glitter/sparkle on top. I’ve got myself several clear nail polishes with glitter to layer over the other nail polishes.
My favourite combination for the last week was this dark red Revlon (Valentine) nail polish and this amazing nail polish by GOSH (Rainbow) with holographic glittery particles. It looks SO pretty together!
I can’t believe that I don’t have the photo of it on my nails. Somehow I didn’t take it and I try to take a photo of my mani lately. But you can imagine the effect.
And what about you? Do you love glitter and shimmer? What is your favourite festive nail polish combination? I am now looking for a perfect golden glitter and shimmer.Read More
Ever since I saw the preview of China Glaze Anchors Away collection for Spring 2011 I couldn’t wait till the release day!
And here we are, China Glaze posted the swatches via their twitter account.
There are 12 shades and they are SO gorgeous. I am still in love with the “Christmassy” nail polishes but these shades are stunning for Spring. Plus I am very happy about the nautical theme, love it!
So enjoy the shades:
- Pelican Gray, high shine, cool toned grey crème.
- Sea Spray, calming pale blue crème.
- Below Deck, a flirty mix of taupe and violet.
- Ahoy! Intense pink that flashes with reflective glass speck.
- Hey Sailor, a vibrant crème red.
- Life Preserver, highly pigmented and luxurious poppy crème.
- Lighthouse, multi-dimensional, bright
I have a lot of makeup products that I’ve got myself for Christmas that I want to tell you about and I’ve also got several beauty gifts from my friends which was totally amazing. So stay tuned! And this is just a random post about beauty shopping…
This weekend I went shopping and also visited some makeup counters, which reminded me how much I love on-line shopping! No one is pushing, now crowds and no one wants you to buy everything they have. I could go on and on but I am sure that you all are familiar with the situation.
I really wanted to get myself a Rouge Coco but for some reason I couldn’t pick the shade that I would like. I know that sounds strange but it’s very hard for me to choose a lipstick I would love on myself. But I really loved the other thing by Chanel and I am talking about the Vanites quad. It is so so pretty, the colours are simply amazing.
Here is the swatch and although it’s not the best photo ever, it gives you the idea about the shades.
I’ve also wanted to pick aRead More
