The Best Grooming Products For Your Man

Father’s Day is just around the corner but what is even more important to me; it’s my  Father’s birthday tomorrow.

Both events inspired me to write this post. This is not really a Father’s Day gift guide as almost all the on-line shops have one, this is just a post about favourite grooming products of my men. By my men I mean my father, boyfriend and my younger brother.

So a must have for my Dad is Vichy Capital Soleil Homme Body Spray with SPF30.

It is his second bottle actually. My Dad is not really a sun protection fan, he just has sun allergy so he must use a sun protection. I have big doubts he would bother if allergy was not the case. He tried a lot of sun protection products from Bioderma to La Roche-Posay and he says that this one is his favourite because it’s clear and not sticky so that he can use it on the go. Plus it’s a spray so it’s very easy to use.

Who knows, maybe you can convince your man to use a sun protection with a help of this product.

My boyfriend loves his L’Oreal Professionnel shampoos.

He says that out of all the shampoo he’s ever tried these are the best.

There is a small but important detail that I should mention

Love It: Shu Uemura Ethnocolor Scope Tokyo Lash Bar Collection

Shu Uemura lash bars are always a big inspiration to me. I really loved their last collection and I also like the new one.

The promo image  is so amazing, I am totally in love with the bright colours and the gorgeous lashes. I think Kakuyasu Uchiide did an amazing job with this collection as per usual.

You can see the lashes from this collection on the photo below and they are called:

Ethnic Charm, the beautiful lashes with colourful beads that are used on the model, Mini Fringe (red), Vibrant Partial eye lashes (the striped colourful lashes), Green Folklore (green and yellow), Tribal Patch(inspired by a patchwork design),  Mini Violet (purple and lilac mini lashes with flowers), Oriental Arch and

NYX Jumbo Eye Shadow Pencil in Dark Brown Review and Swatches

I’ve been wanting to try the NYX Jumbo Pencils for a long time already as I’ve read so many great reviews and it is probably a cult product already. Plus the price is really affordable (only $4.50 in the US) so why not giving it a try?

I’ve picked up one colour just to try out and see my impression, although I was tempted to get a lot of different shades. I’ve got the shade called Dark Brown which looked like the colour I would love and use a lot.

I was really impressed with the pigmentation of this particular pencil, as it is so intense and the shade is buildable. The formula is nice as well, it glides on smoothly and is easy to blend.

I am also so happy about the colour that I’ve chosen as  Dark Brown is the exact shade that I love using for my daily makeup look. I just use this Jumbo Eye Shadow Pencil on my lid and on the bottom lash line and blend it with my   No7 Smokey Eyeliner Brush and MAC 217, add some mascara and I am ready to go.

This is is how the colour looks like with the flash

Givenchy Summer 2011 Makeup Collection

I already wrote about the new Givenchy glosses which I swatched at the counter and really liked. I personally plan to one for myself in the future.

But besides the glosses this collection  also includes a Vernis Please! Nail Lacquer in 175 Acid Orange, Phenomen’Eyes Mascara in Acid Blue,  Mister Radiant which contains the micro-beads which give your complexion a healthy glow, and the most exciting product – Le Prismissime 9-Colors Eyeshadow.

This palette which is inspired by neon lights “has a surprising range of bold colors: flashy matte shades of blue, purple and green, punctuated by mother-of-pearl-inflected brown, orange, yellow, green, blue, and white emphasizing neon glints.”

I wasn’t really excited about this palette until I saw this post. It’s in Russian but if you click the Givenchy tag you can see several amazing makeup looks with this palette. I highly recommend you checking out that link. I  think  the girl did a wonderful job!

Nails of the Day: Inglot Nail Polish in 728 Matte

I’ve picked up this Inglot nail polish  because I liked the colour and I never looked at the name (or number in this case) or the formula. So I’ve noticed that it had a “matte” label on the bottle  only when I was applying the nail polish.

Here is one nail with two coats of nail polish and a Seche Vite top coat and  a nail polish without a top coat so that you can see a difference.

It was  a big surprise but not a bad one. I haven’t tried  matte nail polishes from Inglot before so it was a new experience. And I have to say that I really like this particular shade. It is pigmented and one coat looks great but I still applied two. The finish is not flat matte but not shiny and that’s something I like, too.

I can see myself wearing this shade in fall a lot.
