These days most Make-Up Artists have all kinds of primers in their kits already but sometimes it is not enough.
I personally don’t think that a MUA needs to have all the skincare for ALL skin types, as that is too much
too heavy to carry around, plus that all is not cheap. After all, it is not MUA’s responsibility and job to take care of someone’s face and MUAs are not dermatologists or skincare experts…
But sometimes a proper cream or lotion won’t hurt at all. I did have Malin & Goetz moisturizer in my kit just in case and sometimes I had to use it. But now, that it’s all used up, I am trying to figure out what products to get.
I don’t want the skincare products to be very expensive but want them to be effective, at the same time. This is why I’ve have asked a person who does know skincare for the recommendations! So here is what Caroline Hirons ( go read her blog!) suggests:
- Hydraluron (£24.99), use it underneath the face cream.
Very oily skin
- La Roche Posay – Effaclar Mat (£15)
- Avene Triacneal (£23)
- Darphin Hydraskin (£30.40)
Very dry skin
- Avene Rich Compensating Cream (£16.50)
I personally use Clarins HydraQuench series at the moment which is enough for me. But I will definitely get Hydraluron in the future. And also Caroline recommended Lambert’s Pure Fish Oil or Perricone MD Omega 3 Supplements. Will have to buy those soon!
