Spring 2015 Contouring: Smashbox, Clinique, Stila, Barry M

Even several years ago contouring was a pro thing but now everyone does it. It seems like contouring is now such an essential, as mascara, or we are getting there.

In the past it was hard to find a good product, as often they were too orange, too muddy etc. But now, with such a competition, the brands stepped up their game, so finding  a suitable shade and formula shouldn’t be a problem.

If you are still not contouring (now it sounds like a sect, ha!), SS 15 is a perfect time to start, as there are tonnes of new releases. I have already mentioned  Kat Von D, BECCA and Laura Mercier. By the way, if you are not ready to spend a lot on this step – Jane shares about the new Chiseled  palette from Barry M here.

But there are more…

Spring 2015 Contouring smashbox, Clinique, Stila

Smashbox Step-By-Step Contour Stick Trio  (get it here for $45)

Contour, Bronze and Highlight in a form of creamy pencils.  These are supposed to be light, non-greasy and easy to blend. I like the idea.

Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Highlight and Sculpting Contour (here for $21)

Of course, the pioneers of the “chubby sticks”  aka crayons had to bring out their version.

Stila Shape & Shade Custom Contour Duo, ($40 from Stila’s website)

Described as “ultra-creamy, super-soft contour and high-light duo” which melts into the skin and has a matte finish. Available in Light, Medium and Dark.

So far these products are not widely available, but they will be very soon… And, I am sure, there will be a lot more products.

The Clinqiue crayons look intriguing. I love chubby pencils like that. but I have never used them for contouring yet.

I bought Stila shade&shape recently. I would like to try counturing as it is so essential like is written in the article. I like it, it is quite easy to work with even I am beginner. I would like try Clinique too.
