Please excuse the lack of features in the last two months but work and personal life just got in the way. However, I am determined to be better with the posts in 2018. But if you do not want to miss updates from me, you are welcome to follow me on Instagram and Twitter.
I would like to dedicate the first feature of 2018 to the new products from my favourite brands: Rouge Bunny Rouge, theBalm, Hourglass and BECCA.
Rouge Bunny Rouge just brought out a Provenance Tales Collector’s Coffret which includes Silvan, Incognito and Silhouette. Each comes is a gorgeous 15 ml glass bottle, so luxurious. A great way to discover the brand. There is also a Fragrant Confections which includes Chatoyant, Vespers and Tenera.
theBalm just released quite a few exciting products. I love theBalm Meet Matt(e) Trimony Matte Eyeshadow Palette (Review and Swatches) so am happy to see Meet Matt(e) Shmaker Eyeshadow Palette ($29.50) which includes a paired selection of 6 matte and 6 shimmer shadows, so dreamy.
There is also a new highlighter. And, as you know, I am also a huge fan of their theBalm The Manizer Sisters Palette (Review and Swatches). The new addition is called Bonnie-Lou Manizer Highlighter & Shimmer ($24) and it is a “gilded glow-getter is an all-in-one highlighter, shadow, and shimmer”.
Finally there are two liquid highlighters: Mary-Dew Manizer & Bonnie-Dew Manizer Liquid Highlighters ($14.50). Our favourite shades now in a liquid formula. theBalm also suggest mixing these with lip products to get that sheen. Bring it on, baby!
As for Hourglass, they are on a roll with the new hot launches. There are new eye shadows palettes, eye brow products, highlighters in a stick and a bronze eye pencil. Let’s take a look.

- Ravine – Champagne Beige, Neutral Brown, Plum Brown, Warm Gold, Dark Cocoa
- Myth – Warm Beige, Dusty Rose, Neutral Peach, Soft Brown, Charcoal Brown
- Expose – Ivory, Plum Taupe, Silver Gunmetal, Black Violet, Plum Mauve
1.5mm Mechanical Gel Eye Liner in Bronze ($18) The thinnest, softest, waterproof gel liner. .
I am a big fan of the Hourglass eye brow pencils, so it is nice to see two different gel products.
Arch Brown Volumizing Fiber Gel ($28)
“A buildable tinted gel formula infused with micro fibers to provide instant color, volume and definition for bold, fuller looking brows. Dual-sided brush.”
Shades: Blonde, Warm Blonde, Auburn, Soft Brunette (shown), Warm Brunette, Dark Brunette.
Arch Brow Shaping Gel ($28)
“An invisible brow gel that instantly shapes and holds hairs in place for effortless definition. Paired with a unique dual-sided brush to coat brow hairs from root to tip”.
After the Lighting powders took the beauty world by storm, Hourglass are bringing out new highlighters in a stick formula. Vanish Flash Highlighting Stick ($42). These are promised to give that “seamless, lustrous highlight to the skin. Instant payoff, effortless blendability and longwearing luster.”
The shades are: Champagne Flash, Gold Flash, Pink Flash (shown), Rose Gold Flash and Bronze Flash.
When it comes to BECCA, they are offering a collection for the under eye area, two products are brand new.
- Anti-Fatigue Under Eye Primer ($32) “A cooling anti-fatigue under eye primer that preps the skin for smooth makeup application”.
- Under Eye Brightening Setting Powder ($25) “A targeted brightening and setting powder for lasting makeup wear”
And while I personally can’t be bothered with so many layers under my eyes, I know that a lot of people do appreciate under eye products that work, and this being BECCA they just may.
