I will always be excited about makeup, I have been for as long as I remember myself and I always will be. But lately I have been more reasonable with my makeup purchases. The thing is that, if I am honest, I don’t need 20th highlighter even if it is super limited edition and is slightly different to what I already own.
Speaking of new releases, there are so many amazing new lipsticks coming out for SS16 (watch this space), and, yes, I would like at least one of each but do I really need them? Moreover, I can’t fit what I already have in my storage.
Now where was I? Oh, yes, that I am being more reasonable with my makeup purchases. Instead, I have invested in swimming classes several times per week and a wardrobe renewal (like these new shoes). I have been avoiding the latter like a plague but I am very pleased with all the items I have purchased in the last year. The fact that I got rid of the unloved pieces also makes me ridiculously happy, too. Hello, more space.
When it comes to beauty I try and make lists of things that I need or really want not to get any random stuff. So what where the latest beauty products I’ve bought?
Last time I’ve posted my list of books to read was back in 2013, so it is definitely time for an update. I do post about books I am reading on Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest thought, if you are interested.
Before we start, I just want to mention that I did a feature about the beauty books every girl (interested in the subject, obviously) should read.
So here are nine books that I plan on reading in the near future. I already have them all, except the last one which is not out yet (but I have it on pre-order).
1. Franz Kafka The Trial.
Don’t know how it happened but somehow I never read this book.
2. François Mauriac. The Desert Of Love.
Mauriac was a favourite author of my literature professor from university, and that is a very high recommendation for me. Had this book on my “to read” list for ages now.
3. Frank McCourt. Angela’s Ashes.
Recently I posted a feature about beauty books every girl needs which I wrote for Mode. There I actually said that Perfumes A to Z Guide by Luca Turin and Tania Sanchez is on top of my wish list, after so many recommendations of people who know and love perfume.
I finally bought it last month, and although I did not have a chance to read it properly yet, I really love it so far. I was happy to discover that perfumes that I love got high rates and laughed at some other witty and honest reviews. My brother was also intrigued by this book and borrowed it to read about his colognes and to find some new ones.
I am sure that it is as good as everyone says it is. I am only sad that it’s from 2009 so a lot of new(er) perfumes are not included.
The other book I’ve bough is
