Here we are again, talking about the monthly favourites!
This shower product with lavender and rosemary extract is pretty similar to L’Occitane Aromachologie Relaxing Shower Gel but just for a fraction of the price. It smells incredible, and does not feel drying on the skin. Being a huge lavender fan, I had to have it. Especially I loved using it during my holidays this month, very relaxing.
Nivea Intimo Wash Lotion Fresh
Had to get this mini while I was away on a holiday, as well, as I forgot mine, and it just reminded me how important a right gel for the intimate hygiene is. This Nivea one is gentle yet effective.
I am really into my Jo Malone colognes these days, especially the mini ones, they smell so incredible. I love mixing and matching them, too. I need new scents from the brand now.
ID Hair By The Sea Seawater Spray (as seen here)
Here is, as promised, the second part of my Favourite Beauty Products of 2014 features.
This time it’s all about the eyes & lips. Enjoy, and don’t forget to share yours.
Eye Shadows Platte – theBalm Shady Lady Vol 2 (review)
I have re-discovered this beauty in summer, and this was the palette I travelled with most of the times, amazing formulas, great colour selection, thin packaging and great mirror – what else do you need? theBalm eye shadows are among the best.
Mascara – Clarins Be Long (review)
I’ve managed to get lush looking lashes with Be Long, it separates perfectly, is never clumpy, and gives a nice , rather dramatic effect, if you use several coats. The brush, for me, is mess-free. I have recommended it to several friends, and they loved it, too.
Cream Eye Shadow – Max Factor Excess Shimmer Eye Shadows (review)
Definitely one of the coolest eye shadows I’ve discovered in ages. Mousse-like texture that allows you to get a sheer hint of shimmer, or layer it on for a more intense look. It is stunning both ways!
Eye Shadows – Rouge Bunny Rouge Eye Shadow in Solstice Halcyon (review)
Recently I fell completely in love with the new Max Factor’s Shimmer Excess release, so I’ve decided to make a round-up of my favourite affordable cream eye shadows in general.
All of them are definitely worth the attention, and they prove that you don’t need to pay a fortune to get a high quality makeup these days.
I have published detailed reviews about each in the past, so if you want to know more – just click the links, included in this feature.
Max Factor Excess Shimmer Eye Shadows (review and swatches)
These have a very light texture, give a beautiful dimensional shimmer and stay on really well. Can be used on their own, or on top of any other product. Gorgeous effect, a must-have.
Maybelline Color Tattoo 24Hr (Permanent Taupe, Eternal Bronze, On and On Bronze; Metallic Pomegranate)
Color Tattoos did get a lot of hype when they were brought out. And rightly so! Opaque colours, blendable texture and long-lasting formula. Metallic
Recently I have posted about the top three affordable new makeup launches that caught my attention. And Max Factor actually kindly sent me their new eye shadows to try out.
They have already made an appearance on my Instagram, and now it’s time for a detailed review.
And, let me tell you, these eye shadows are absolutely brilliant! I was a bit worried that with the name Excess Shimmer it could be an overkill (not a fan of too much glitter), but it is not – spot on, in fact!
The brand describes the texture as “3D silicone gel”, and it does feel like a light mousse-y gel texture (the only similar product that I have, is my favourite cream eye shadow by New CID) which is foolproof.
You can even use the product with your finger and gently blend all over the lid. The formula is pretty unique, you can sheer it out, or add layers for a more intense effect.
As for the look, yes it is quite shimmery, but it looks pretty! It never is flat, but instead, gives dimension, and reflects the light beautifully.

Rouge Bunny Rouge Long Lasting Cream Shadow Silk Aether in Atlas Swallowtail Review & Swatches. Rave
I already reviewed one shade of Rouge Bunny Rouge Silk Aether eye shadows, and today I want to tell you about the other one, which was easily my eye shadow of the month, as I’ve already said it my monthly favourites.
It is called Atlas Swallowtail which is a “satin wash of nude taupe with pewter reflections; buildable to a darker, more opaque and metallic greyish hue.” And it is the perfect taupe, it gives enough of definition but still looks subtle. I can’t think of anyone who would look bad with such shade on the lids.
I agree with the brand that their eye shadows have a ” semi-matte, luminous colour”, the texture is silky and smooth. The eye shadows look absolutely beautiful when applied, you don’t even feel them on the skin, as the texture is so lightweight, and I find that it doesn’t enhance any skin imperfections you may have, as some cream eye shadows can.
