It is better late than never, right? So here is finally a feature on my favourite beauty products of 2017.
Here is actually a look back on my 2015 favourites and 2016 Makeup Favourites. I am still obsessed with those products, by the way. And a link to my 2017 monthly beauty favourites. While in 2015 and 2016 I wrote about makeup only, this time it will be about beauty in general. I have chosen 17 products. Some of the products I loved the most were LE ( Clarins shadows, bronzers for e.g) so here are only those that are still available.
- Rouge Bunny Rouge SERENE LIGHT Skin Perfector
This is probably the product of 2017, and it was also in my 2016 favourites. I have been promising to write a detailed feature about it for a while now, and I will definitely do it in the near future. Basically this base gives you the most incredible glow, you get that polished and well-rested effect, dry skin’s best friend. It does not give that much coverage, as it is a primer, but I wear it without any foundation on top. Stay tuned for the photos.
I’ve hit the pan on this product, and will use it all up. I love how it is called bronzer/blush, and it is exactly that, it has a nice balance of warmth and reddish undertones. Perfect for adding colour and definition to your face. I love the texture, the formula an the pigmentation. The staying power is also impressive. See the swatch in the middle.
I am very picky when it come to eye liners, it has to be a very specific tip and formula for me to like it. And this Clarins one is absolutely incredible. The best purchase. The tip is
I personally love hearing Charlotte Tilbury talk all things beauty as she is always so passionate about it! Especially she is passionate about a good mascara, so obviously we all had high expectations of the one she released. Legendary Lashes promises to give you “Instant Hollywood False-Lash Effect”, and it really does it!
It is honestly one of the best mascaras I have ever used, definitely in my top 5! It creates absolutely incredible lashes even if yours are not that impressive naturally. Volume, length and carbon black colour – basically everything you can dream of.
However, I personally find
June was a very busy month for me, so I did not discover/rediscover that many beauty products, however, I truly love the ones I am mentioning, they are real gems.
This is one of the best base products I have ever used. I am convinced it is some kind of Magyar mágia (Hungarian magic), as it makes the face look flawless, radiant and even younger. As I have mentioned in my original review, my friend was very skeptical about my big love for this, but after trying mine, she ordered one the next day. I personally think that you can’t really go wrong with Omorovicza products in general. They are very expensive but are worth it.
I should really write detailed reviews about the Charlotte Tilbury products. Both of these were a present from a friend, and I am happy she thought of me. Legendary Lashes mascara creates absolutely incredible lashes: full, voluminous and long. Not that many mascaras will give you this effect. However, it smudges like crazy, and unless I use it with a waterproof top coat – I will end up with mascara on my upper lids. But I am kind of ready to forgive this for the effect I get. Colour Chameleons were
Quite a few brands famous for mascaras launched additions to their ranges, and we are talking about Lancome, YSL (The Shock) and Dior. And I have reviewed at least one from each brand in the past…
But today let’s take a look at two mascaras I haven’t mentioned yet.
“A super-volumizing squeezable mascara with a fully loaded brush for instant, extreme lash volume. By pumping the soft tube, you’ll coat the brush and soften the creamy, rich mascara formula inside for a perfect, fresh application, every time”.
“A high-volume mascara that delivers bold lash volume for up to 24 hours. Features a large brush and an ultra-creamy formula that glides onto lashes like silk and delivers up to 12 times the volume with up to 24 hours of wear”.
I am actually trying out quite a few mascaras now, so expect to see the reviews in the future.
I really love reading (or watching) about people’s top favourite beauty products, as this is a great way to discover new gems. I have posted 15 favourite makeup products of 2015 so now it is time to post about my most loved makeup products in 2016.
Unfortunately, four products (Dior lipstick , Illamasqua nail varnish, Clarins bronzer and eye shadows) that I absolutely adored and used non-stop this year are no longer available so I will have to mention only those items that you can still get.
Rouge Bunny Rouge Serene Light Skin Perfector
This was pretty much the only base product I have been using ever since I received it several months ago. I still haven’t written a proper feature as I really wanted to give it a good test before that. The product definitely stands up to the “Skin Perfector” name, as it makes the complexion glow without looking too shiny or oily. I also rarely use anything on top since it is a bit tinted. Not that I have a perfect skin but this is enough for me, I only use concealer where needed.
Clarins HydraQuench Tinted Moisturizer (review and swatches)
This product does not need an introduction. I’ve completely used it up, hence I had to use a different Clarins product for the reference purpose. It is like a dry skin’s best friend, this tinted moisturizer never makes your skin look flaky and never accentuates the dry patches. Instead, the skin looks somehow “healthy” and radiant. Love!
Rouge Bunny Rouge Glide Concealer NAKED DISGUISE (review and swatches)
Regular readers will probably know that I barely ever use concealer because I don’t really mind a bit of dark-ish circles, as horrible as it sounds. But I personally hate the perfectly concealed under-eye area on myself. I also almost never get spots, so no need for the concealer in any other places. However, I do really like this product, as it makes the under eye area look better but without making you look like a mannequin.
Inglot Sculpting HD Powder in 504 (review)
As you can see from the photo above, this product is very well loved. Perfect shade for light cool-toned complexions, and the formula is incredibly soft and easy to blend, too.
Daniel Sandler Rose Glow and Golden Glow Watercolour Blushes (review and swatches).
I have spoken about my love for the Daniel Sandler blushers numerous times but, I think, this year he really killed it. The two newest shades are to die for, and although I haven’t been wearing blush that much in 2016, I’ve been reaching for these most of the times I have. Watercolours give you the “blushing from within” kind of effect, a must try. If you are a bit scared of the liquid, which you shouldn’t be, Daniel also has cream blushes now.
