Beauty Inspiration: Futuristic and Dystopian
I have to admit that I am slightly obsessed with dystopian novels, and love all those futuristic and manus x machina themes. And, yes, I do have a board on Pinterest.
It may have something to do with the fact that I did culture studies back at uni and read lots of philosophical theories on the subject. Whatever it is, I have been always fascinated with the futuristic beauty.
Here is actually a photo I’ve posted on Instagram recently.
The products shown are:
- GOSH Holographic and Rainbow nail polishes.
- Illamasqua Liquid Metal in Surge and Phenomena
- Ellis Faas Lights in 301
- Max Factor Excess Shimmer Eye Shadows in Crystal
- MeMeMe nail polish in Refined
And here are also some kick ass beauty looks from the relatively recent MET Gala, how
Beauty Inspiration: Dark Lips
It’s not a secret that I am a huge fan of dark but wearable lips. So after looking at the close-ups of the makeup from the MET Gala 2012, I have chosen my favourite looks.
One of my favourites is this look on Lana del Rey, how gorgeous does she look? Flawless skin, beautiful contouring, impeccable eye makeup and the lip shade is just perfection!
Then there are also Kate Bosworth and Camilla Belle. Kate, who usually wears a ‘barely-there-makeup’ is rocking that dark lipstick. Bravo, Kate! The brows are also to die for. Only what’s with the hair?!
As for Camilla, her Mak-Up Artist is a genius (I’d love to know who did her makeup) for choosing that lip colour. I assume that is a customized shade, but who knows. It is so unique, bold and really stands out. Such shade could be a total disaster but it worked out amazingly and it definitely catches attention.
And the last two
Get The Look: Pan Am Girls Makeup
If you follow me on Twitter , you probably know that I was desperate to find any information about the makeup used on Pan Am. But it did not bring any success, unfortunately.
This is why I was extremely happy to recieve this information the other day!
I just have to share it with you:
Patricia Regan, the head make-up artist for PAN AM, worked closely with Chad and Scott, owners of 3 Custom Color, to create a working palette for the show inspired by the 1960′s stewardesses handbook that, amongst other things, required the gals to ‘Wear a defined eye and coral lips and cheeks’.
“My inspiration comes from extensive photographs of 1963—fashion, documentary, and people, as well as Pan Am history,” says Regan. “I try to combine the style of the past and with the tools of the present to give a fresh new look!” Here’s how she achieved it.

Marion Cotillard and Diana Kruger at SAG Awards. Makeup & Dresses
I thought that I should also show you my favourite looks from the SAG Awards. I really loved the makeup of Marion Cotillard. And it’s not a surprise after all because I really like her. But I can’t say that I liked her dress. As for the other celebrity – it is Diana Kruger. She looked absolutely amazing: both the look and the dress.
