I have realized that it’s been a while since I had a black manicure. It’s one of my favourites plus I am always in the mood for black – so I did get one last week.
I was curious about CND Vinylux Weekly Polish, so it was time to try it, finally. And here are the results!
Since I’ve tried it in the salon, I can’t really comment on the application, since the girl that I see there is awesome, and she makes everything look like magic. But it did look smooth and opaque with two applications.
As for the finish,
I already showed you the nail polish collection that really caught my attention – OPI’s Nordic, inspired by Scandinavia, and here are two more collections – Essie and Orly.
Wow, just wow, this collection is gorgeous. I’d wear all the shades, except Brush It On, which is beautiful, just not my style. But Highlight, Smoked Out, Darkest Shadow, Edgy and Blend look really cool.
Recently I was thinking about how my beauty habits and preferences changed over years… Looks like one of the best examples for that would be my nails.
I used to love really long and square shaped nails. On the first photo, which is from 2010, where I am wearing OPI’s Baby It’s Coal Outside, they are not that long but you get the idea. The thought of cutting and filing down my nails back then was horrifying.
And now I
San Francisco is one of the most amazing cities in the World, so I am personally really excited to see the whole collection dedicated to it. And it’s the OPI’s Fall 2013 nail polish collection.
Also how beautiful are the promo images?
The shades are:
- A-Piers to Be Tan, I shore do like this chocolaty tan.
- Dining al Frisco, Just feast your eyes on this fresh-air blue!
- Haven’t the Foggiest, Can’t tell you why I love this misty gray…I just do!
- Peace & Love & OPI, This holographic sage and eggplant is far out!
- Keeping Suzi at Bay, There’s no holding back this assertive navy blue.
- Incognito in Sausalito, You better keep this almost-black blue under wraps.
- Lost on Lombard, Oh garn-et! I’m all
I really like this Metallic Grey nail polish from Couture Colour. It is a beautiful shade, very dark grey with subtle shimmer. Although it may not be as complex as some high end nail polishes, I still like how it reflects in the sun.
It goes on smoothly and looks opaque with two coats, as shown below on the photo.
It has a long and thin brush which is not my personal favourite but it allows a more precise application, I guess.
