Recently I was thinking about how my beauty habits and preferences changed over years… Looks like one of the best examples for that would be my nails.
I used to love really long and square shaped nails. On the first photo, which is from 2010, where I am wearing OPI’s Baby It’s Coal Outside, they are not that long but you get the idea. The thought of cutting and filing down my nails back then was horrifying.
And now I
Here is a preview of the latest A England nail polish collection, Burne-Jones, which includes five beautiful holographic nail polishes: Briar Rose/Sleeping Beauty, Rose Bower, Briarwood, Sleeping Palace and Fated Prince.
I am very excited about the new A England nail polish collection, called Gothic Beauties! I love everything about it actually, name, shades, the whole idea behind it.
I have already written about Bridal Veil and Perceval and this time I plan on getting Jane Eyre and Saint George (from the Legend collection). I also can’t wait for crimson/cerise/burgundy/red shades in the future!
Here is a close up of the collection, each nail polish retails for £9 and the shipping is free Worldwide! My blog friend Eugenia has beautiful swatches and descriptions of the whole collection!
Dorian Grey,Tess d Urbervilles, Lady Of Shallot, Ophelia and Jane Eyre. Which one do you like?
And here are also some new offerings from Deborah Lippmann for AW 2012:
I have got two A England nail polishes ages ago and have already written about Perceval here so I am not sure what took me so long to write about Bridal Veil.
It is probably the most beautiful nail polish that I own. It is a holographic black which is so gorgeous that it’s insane.
I would really recommend wearing it in the sunny weather as you can see all the multi-shimmer and the holographic rainbow. Seriously, I turn into my three-year-old-cousin and start showing my nails to
almost everyone, not to mention that I can’t stop staring myself.
As for the formula, it is
I’ve been meaning to get this GOSH nail polish for quite a long time but it was sold out all the time. Finally it is mine, I’ve got the last bottle by the way.
I never had a holographic nail polish before so I was mesmerized by this one and instead of working I was staring at my nails most of the time.
Isn’t it beautiful?
But my problem was that by the mid of the day my nail polish did not look as nice as it was supposed to look. Later I read on the bottle that due to a special formula one should wear a 565 Fix Base Coat. Yes, I was so excited to try this nail polish that haven’t noticed that before.
I am a bit surprised that one should use a special base coat not a top coat, but I am not a nail polish expert. Next time I will definitely try the proper application. I had to remove my nail polish on the other day because it looked to bad.
I am not sure if all holographic nail polishes are like this or only this one though. I don’t like the staying power but I really like the effect.
