Today’s feature is a collaboration with a guest beauty writer who shares tips on why it is a good idea to invest in makeup brushes.
Makeup can be a great investment to have especially when it comes to bringing out your natural beauty. When applied properly it can help hide some of your flaws while enhancing some of your best features in a subtle manner. In an industry as huge as the beauty and cosmetics department, several brands like Skinfood often provide various makeup options that often come in packages coupled with a handful of sponges, brushes, and unique applicators.
These accessories are included to help apply the product evenly while also matching the contour of your face with ease. However, it is important to note that not all applicators are made the same. In some brands, certain sponges, brushes, and blenders are made with higher quality materials which offers a better finish compared to others.
To gain a better understanding on these features, here are some reasons why makeup enthusiasts should invest in high quality makeup tools:
- Handles different makeup consistencies

First of all, I have something important to tell you!
makeup4all.com e-mail was not working for the last week and I did not get any e-mails at all. I have only noticed it today as I am currently away (for work) and did not have time/opportunity to check my blog e-mails earlier.
Unfortunately, all the data was lost, so if you did send me an important e-mail, I’d appreciate if you could re-send it!
And here is a quick look of the makeup (and some beauty, as most are not pictured) products I took away with me. I am pretty sure that regular readers can spot some of my all time favourites.
As for the heroes of this trip…
This summer a lot of people were absolutely in love with orange and coral, and with Pantone’s Tangerine Tango, as it was the trendiest colour of the season.
Although I am not a biggest fan of corals and oranges on myself, unless I am tanned after a holiday, I do love such shades on other people.
But I actually do like the new Pantone and Sephora makeup collection for AW. This time, according, to them,it’s all about precious jewel tones.
First of all, here are four products that I personally like the best and would get for myself (maybe I should actually).
1. Gemstone Faux Lash Set, ($24), 3 x lashes in gemstone, metallic, glitter and glue.
It’s not that I wear glittery lashes on a daily basis but it would be fun to try these out for the Christmas/ New Year on myself or others.
2. Transforming Gloss, $14.
Now this may look like my ultimate love, Guerlain’s KissKiss 800 gloss. Plus I like the sound of it.
3. Illuminating Face Primer, $26
It is described as a ‘weightless aqua-mousse primer that creates a perfect dewy glow.’ Would be nice to see what it’s like in reality.
4.Dazzling Lip Gloss Set, $24
I like the shades that are included and they look super cute.
Other products from the collection are:
Black Magic Waterproof Eyeliner Set, $24, 3 x 0.014 oz eyeliner in Black, Brown, Blackest Black
Alchemy Of Color Eye Shadow Palette, $34
Alchemy Of Color Face Palette, $30
Lip Luster Lipstick, $18
- Almost Apricot – glittery iridescent pink
- Tangerine Tango – glittery
theBALM is one those smaller brands that I personally really like. I have only tried their eye shadows (Nude Tude and Shady Lady) but I have read a lot of great reviews about other products, especially blushes, bronzers and highlighters. I definitely plan on getting more of their products in the future.
I am actually very excited about the brand’s new palette which is called Balm Jovi. Not only it looks amazing but I love the concept, of course!
You get: 12 eyeshadows that can be used wet or dry, highlighter, matte-peach blush, two multi-purpose creamy cheek and lip colors.
I love the names and some of the bands I do love, too. Seriously, how cool is this palette? And it’s only
Although I am not a fan of leopard print at all, I know that a lot of people love it. Plus I am a big fan of Japonesque (face brushes reviewed here) so I thought I’d show you their newest Safari brushes collection.
There is a ‘purr-ferct’ 🙂 Safari Brush Set, in a microfibre case, which includes Powder Brush, Shadow Brush and Crease Brush. The set retails for £28.
And there is also a bronzer blush which retails for £19.50. Ahh, if only I loved leopard print.
All brushes are made of synthetic bristles. All the mentioned products are available from Boots.
The great news is that Japonesque is now available from HQhair.com who ship to different countries. There are not that many products available but the brand plans to add more, yes, the well palettes, too.
