Laura Mercier Cinema Noir Makeup Collection for Fall 2012

I absolutely love the concept of this new Laura Mercier makeup collection called Cinema Noir. The promotional image and all the eye products are all tight up my alley. There is also a beautiful illuminator and nude/brown nails and lips products.

The star product of the collection is the  Shimmer Bloc in Starlet Mosaic ($38) which is a baked illuminator for the eyes, face and body.

The eye products include: Long Lash Mascara in Burgundy ($24), Tightline Cake Eyeliners in Deep Teal and Dark Espresso ($22), Eye Colour Duet in Suspense (browns) and Mystere (blues) ($22).

As for the lips,

Nails Of The Day: Ciate Paint Pot in Cookies and Cream

Recently I read an interview  with a famous manicurist where he said that he would use only nude nail polish if he could. Well, that would be a nightmare for me if I had to use only nude nail polish or lipstick.

It is supposed to be chic and classy, I know. But I am just not a fan of nude nail polish. I am close to thinking this is a waste of time to put something ‘colourless’ on you nails when you can use fuchsia for example.  I just find it boring plus I can always wear nude at a certain age.

But I actually own several nude nail polishes and wear them sometimes. One of them is butter LONDON’s cult shade Yummy Mummy and several months ago I’ve also got Ciate’s Cookies and Cream.

I actually really love

Nails of the Day: Yves Rocher Nail Polish in Taupe

I’ve got this Yves Rocher nail polish as a present from the lovely Magi from Magimania. It’s a mini size which is 3 ml, which is absolutely cute.

I think it’s a fantastic idea to produce mini nail polishes (or is it a sample?) because this way you can get a lot of  nail polishes from  the brand you like without being broke. And did I mention that it is totally cute?

I’ve never finished a bottle of a nail polish but this one looks like the one that I can actually finish plus it it is very travel friendly.

Ok, you’ve got that I really like this idea. But what about this nail polish in particular? Wanna see how it looks like on the nails?

Butter London in Yummy Mummy Review and Swatches

I wanted to try Butter London for a long time already. This is what is written about the product:

“Butter London brings us non-toxic nail treatments and lacquers in an array of delicious shades. The hero product is the 3 Free line, which waves goodbye to typical (but nasty) ingredients such as formaldehyde, toluene and DBP. We love their on-trend shades and entertaining names!”

I read some reviews including these at London Makeup Girl. So now I was sure that I want to try it. But what shade? It was very hard to decide because they all looked amazing to me plus the names are great. At first I wanted to get Artful Dodger but I just decided to wait for Chanel’s Nouvelle Vague .

So Yummy Mummy looked liked a perfect shade to me. I’ve spotted some other shades that were calling my name but I when I try something for the first time I get only one product.
What were my thoughts now when I got it? First of all it’s the best nail polish design that I ever saw. I also love the name “butter London”. And in my opinion these are also important factors because now you can choose from so many brands that you should like as many factors about the product as possible.

What about the nail polish itself? I really liked the brush which is kind of small and thin. For some of you this is not the best thing to hear. But I love brushes like this because it helps you to apply the product neat and tidy. Often I do my manicure myself so this is very important for me. You get an opaque cover after you use it only once and it is one of the most important factors. But if you want to get the more intense colour – go for 2 layers.

How long it stays on nails? In my case the products started to chip on 3rd day (without top coat) but it still looked ok. But on the 4th day I had to remove it. Also I have to mention that butter London doesn’t stink like some polishes.
In general I am
