I think I have already told this story, but why not sharing it once again. When I was a child the most fascinating thing for me, makeup-wise, was a colourful mascara. I remember that I was about 6, when I saw a girl with blue eye lashes, and I just couldn’t take my eyes off her. I promised myself that when I grow up – I will have a lot of different shades!
And, although, I don’t really wear blue or green mascaras that often – I do like more subtle versions for a change. Here are three that I want to share with you.
Clarins Instant Definition Mascara in Intense Plum (review)
This was a Limited Edition, but since it’s my favourite colourful mascara that I ever owned, I had to include it. Plus, you can still get it from Amazon.
The formula is brilliant, is gives you that wow-effect, nice volume and intensity. I adore wearing it when I opt for a bright lip and want to keep my eyes look more subtle (and more interesting than just black) but still defined. Actually, I get a lot of compliments when I am wearing it.
Rouge Bunny Rouge Dramatic Lash Mascara Megaplumes in Oxblood Panache (review)
I am the biggest oxblood fan, I have been wearing it for years
I’m not gonna lie, I am super jealous when I see girls with long, thick lashes…Unfortunately, it is not the case with mine. It could be worse, so I should not complain really.
But there are certain things I can do about it. I have never tried lash extensions for some reason and wearing false lashes every day is not an option, for me at least.
So here are the products that I use to get a make my lashes look decent:
First of all, I curl my lashes with shu uemura lash curlers, they open up the eyes and the curl lasts all day long. It is a great investment.
Then I use a lash primer, currently it’s Urban Decay’s Eyelash Primer Potion, it adds some length and volume without making the lashes look clumpy.
Next step is mascara – black Diorshow New Look or
I have been wearing this mascara for around three weeks almost every week. And I am glad that I did not post my review earlier because I have changed my opinion about it from liking to loving a lot.
To tell the truth, it’s because I was expecting a mascara that would really make my lashes look purple… And it did not. But first of all, it is called intense plum, not bright lilac, so it was not supposed to be a bright lilac, as I was picturing it (I actually used to have such mascara in the past, so maybe this why I had such expectations).
Although the colour hardly showed on my lashes, it just did not look as intense as black and it was hard to say that it was purple, I kept wearing it. And I am happy that I did. You’ll find out why soon 😉
I love the brush a lot as it allows you to use it even on the shortest lashes which is great. And I also love the general effect of Instant Definition mascara: it is not very dramatic but not barely there ‘natural’ effect which I hate, it is just on-spot for an every day look. I don’t get a false lash effect but enough length and volume for me to like it and keep in my makeup bag, which is saying a lot, as I have so many mascaras. It does not smudge or
