Too Much Red? Red Lips and Nails Of The Day!

Apparently, I don’t know such thing, as “too much black”, or, for that matter, often “too much red”.

I have been drawn to red lipstick and nail polish combo for years and years now. But lately I’ve been wearing it non-stop, almost.

While I’ve started “doing red nails”  just when I started wearing  polish in general, it took me some time to get used to red lipstick, and thank God. A teen with an (often badly applied) red lipstick is not the best sight ever, you know?!

Yes, I do wear it all with a red shirt. Did I mention

Want It: Revlon Facets of Fuchsia, Blue Mosaic, Starry Pink and Smoky Canvas

Revlon did an amazing job with the nail polishes for Fall. I want them all, to tell the truth. But if I could get only one that would be Fuchsia Facets.  It it such s gorgeous nail polish!

Purple used to be my favourite colour  for years and I think it looks awesome for Autumn.

Here is the promo photo:

Lovely Esther has beautiful swatches of all four shades: Facets of Fuchsia(see above), Blue Mosaic (blue with glitter), Starry Pink (pastel pink with glitter), Smoky Canvas (light taupy shade).

These nail polishes are out now but something tells me they will be sold out very quickly, so hurry up!

Nails Of The Day: Revlon Nail Polish in Revlon Red

Today I am wearing Revlon’s Revlon Red, which I had to get after seeing the swatches of it online, and I have mixed feeling about it. I like a lot of products from Revlon and I really wanted to like the nail polish, too, especailly after reading some great reviews.

So why do I have mixed feelings? First of all lets start with the positive things about it!

The colours are really beautiful and there are quite a lot to choose from. I have 2 Revlon nail polishes and they are both very beautiful! The colours are very pigmented and are opaque with only one layer (but two layers give a even better coverage).

Now this swatch is just UGLY! I know. But I just wanted to show what I mean by saying that I can’t manage to use this brush – the nail polish is all over the place as you can see and I can’t manage to paint my nails near the cuticle. But the colour however is stunning!  I am showing you only one nail because all the others look the same unfortunately.

And what I don’t like about it. For some reason Revlon nail polishes don’t stay for a long time on me even after I’ve used a Seche Vite top coat.  I am also not sure if I like the brush, maybe I just need to get used to it but that is obviously my personal preference. I am not saying that it’s a bad brush but for some reason I can’t use it without making a huge mess.

I will try to experiment with these nail polishes more and I really hope that they will stay on for a longer time. It is such a shame that it starts chipping on the second day as the colours are SO beautiful.

And for how long does the Revlon nail polish stay on your nails?

‘Tis The Season for the Sparkly Nails

‘Tis the season for the sparkly manicure, even those who don’t love glitter and sparkles started wearing those pretty nail polishes. I can spot different styles everywhere. I’ve seen so many beautiful designs so far.

I absolutely love when the nail polishes are layered, when you have a nail polish of your choice  as a base and different glitter/sparkle on top. I’ve got myself several  clear nail polishes with  glitter to layer over the other nail polishes.

My favourite combination for the last week was this dark red Revlon (Valentine) nail polish  and this amazing nail polish by GOSH (Rainbow) with holographic  glittery particles. It looks SO pretty together!

I can’t believe that I don’t have the photo of it on my nails. Somehow I didn’t take it and I try to take a photo of my mani lately. But you can imagine the effect.

And what about you? Do you love glitter and shimmer? What is your favourite festive nail polish combination?  I am now looking for a perfect golden glitter and shimmer.

Holiday Red Lips and Nails with Ellis Faas and Revlon

Those of you who follow me on twitter probably already saw this photo of me wearing Ellis Faas  Creamy Lips in L101 Ellis Red which is just amazing! According to the brand it should look nice on every skin tone. They also have the famous Ellis Red in other formulas: Milky Lips L201 and Glazed Lips L301 so you can choose a formula, too.

As for the nail polish I am wearing Revlon’s Valentine and although I absolutely love the colour I am not happy with the application and the brush. But I will write about both products in more details later, so stay tuned!

I plan to show you some other red and plum lip products over the next few weeks.  And I would really love to hear what lip shades are you loving now? By the way, have you seen my tips onhow to wear a red lipstick?
