YSL Eye Shadow Duo in 35 Caramel Tan/Burnt Brown Review, Photos, Swatches

So I’ve promised to review some products from the YSL summer 2011 makeup collection that I’ve mentioned here.

I’ve already reviewed the new Volupte Sheer Candy lip balms which I adore  so now it’s time to write about the eye shadow palette and the blush.

Today I will tell you about the eye shadow duo in  35 Caramel Tan/Burnt Brown (Terre Halee/ Brun Embrase). These eye shadows come in a signature gold YSL packaging with two sponges.

And I actually use the sponges when I apply the eye shadows as they pick just the right amount of the product.  I  don’t like brushes like MAC 217 with these eye shadows because they don’t pick up the right amount of  the product which leads to a very sheer application. This is why some people may think that YSL eye shadows are not pigmented. They are, you just have to find the best way to use them. You can also try using them with a slightly dampened brush.

Here is the palette in different light

As I already said, I apply with the sponges from the palette and then blend with a blending brush.

Yves Saint Laurent Volupte Sheer Candy Review, Photos and Swatches

When I first wrote about the lipstick/balm trend back in February I just knew that I had to try Dior Addict and YSL Volupte Sheer Candy Lipstciks/Lip Balms.

You can find my review and swatches of Dior Addict here and today I will tell you my opinion about the YSL.

First of all I have to say that I really love the design. To tell the truth, I used to dislike the golden design  of YSL or D&G but now, although I already like it,  I have to say that I love this silver design much more.

Volupte Sheer Candy has a classic YSL lipstick design which looks chic  and feels heavy. I personally like it.

The second thing that you notice is the delicious mango scent.  I can also say that it tastes nice, it is sweet and light, but don’t ask me how do I know that 😉

As you can see I have three shades and they are:

  • 02 Dewy Papaya, sheer fresh peach
  • 04 Succulent Pomegranate, sheer bright pink with red undertones
  • 06 Luscious Cherry, sheer cherry red with golden shimmer

So what about the application? I find that these lip balms go on smoothly and I personally find them really moisturising and hydrating. They are not gloopy or waxy in any way. I already see you wondering

Yves Saint Laurent Blue Lip Gloss Pur Review and Lip Swatches

Remember my post about the blue lip glosses? So today I want to tell you about one of them – the blue Gloss Pur in #11 by YSL which is from their summer 2011 makeup collection.

I like Yves Saint Laurent glosses and already reviewed one of my Golden Glosses which you can see here.

But let’s go back to this blue baby. So what is so special about it?

The fact that it is blue! Now obviously, it doesn’t look blue on your lips but the fact that it is blue in tube makes it so special. It reminds me of the Dior gloss from the spring collection which looked grey/silver in the tube but nothing like that on the lips.

But you know what you are using and that makes it special. I have so many glosses and this one is definitely one of those that stand out when I go through my collection, it catches the eye immediately.

On the lips it
