YSL Faux Cils Mascara Review. Rave

My name is Marina, and I am mascara snob. Although most make-up artists and beauty writers say how mascara is the product to save on, this is not for me. After all mascara is one of the most important products in my makeup bag, so it has to be perfect. And YSL Faux Cils meets all my requirements.

This lill’ gem does not need an introduction, a cult classic for a reason, it gives you phenomenal lashes, hence the name. You get ridiculously -long-touching-your-eyebrows lashes which are voluminous and ultra-black, too. On me this mascara stays on pretty well, without smudging for the whole working day.

And that is not to mention that it comes in the gorgeous YSL gold packaging. And although I am the biggest fan of black you will ever find, I still think that YSL’s gold feels more luxurious. And, yes, when you pay a lot for

YSL Ombres Duolumieres in 37 Review and Swatches

For those of you who don’t know – YSL are launching the new version of their quints, and you can take a look here.

But today I want to tell you about one of their duos – YSL Ombres Duolumieres Jaune Ardent/Bleu Torride, and this lill’ palette is just perfect for summer, as you get a blue, and a yellow!

Let’s take a look…

YSL Ombres Duolumieres in 37 Review and Swatches 1The colours are very beautiful, and are true to what you see in the packaging. You can get a sheer wash of colour, or build up the intensity by layering, using over primer or with a damp brush or sponge.  The sponges that come on the palette are actually great for packing on shadows.

I personally love using the blue on top of any blue eye shadow with a lot of mascara, it looks great on brown eyes. Or with a damp thin brush an eye liner. Yellow could be used for a

YSL Eye Shadow Duo in 35 Caramel Tan/Burnt Brown Review, Photos, Swatches

So I’ve promised to review some products from the YSL summer 2011 makeup collection that I’ve mentioned here.

I’ve already reviewed the new Volupte Sheer Candy lip balms which I adore  so now it’s time to write about the eye shadow palette and the blush.

Today I will tell you about the eye shadow duo in  35 Caramel Tan/Burnt Brown (Terre Halee/ Brun Embrase). These eye shadows come in a signature gold YSL packaging with two sponges.

And I actually use the sponges when I apply the eye shadows as they pick just the right amount of the product.  I  don’t like brushes like MAC 217 with these eye shadows because they don’t pick up the right amount of  the product which leads to a very sheer application. This is why some people may think that YSL eye shadows are not pigmented. They are, you just have to find the best way to use them. You can also try using them with a slightly dampened brush.

Here is the palette in different light

As I already said, I apply with the sponges from the palette and then blend with a blending brush.

As for the texture, these eye shadows are

Yves Saint Laurent Golden Gloss Review and Lip Swatches

I love myself some Yves Saint Laurent and here is my most recent purchase – Golden Gloss which in #19 which is called Golden Petal. It is a milky pink with a lot of golden shimmer.

I love the design  and I find the little brush which comes with the gloss useful. This gloss has a rather strong scent and I know that some people don’t like it although I don’t mind at all and I can’t really feel it after applied.

This gloss looks really beautiful on the lips and I also find it moisturising. I find that the gloss is not thick and sticky, at least not like
