I honestly do not think that YSL makeup collection Northern Lights could be more beautiful. Aurora Borealis with it’s unique colours and shades was the inspiration for Lloyd Simmonds.
This is my favourite YSL beauty promo of this year, definitely. So elegant and chic.
Here is what he says:
“The Aurora Borealis, or northern lights, are incredibly vivid and I have many memories of witnessing this magical spectacle from my childhood. Their lights inspired me to create this collection of intense colours, shot through with violet and midnight blue and sprinkled with slivers of pearl, like a star-filled night.”
It is one of my dreams to see Northern Lights! How gorgeous is that?!
But back to the collection, the products are:
Golden Gloss (£22) – No55 N°55, glacial blue with a fresh, transparent highlight and N°56, snow white with pearly, lunar highlights.. These are my favourite, they capture Aurora Borealis perfectly, in my opinion.
Star product of the collection – Boréal Palette Polar Night – Highlighter Powder (£39.50, LE)
La Laque Couture Top Coat (£18) No33 Premiere Nege, a sparky top coat.
Pure Chromatics (£39, LE) No12 Boréal Palette Arctic Night, comes with a silver-sequined pouch.
Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils Shocking (£23) in N°20, a scintillating gray, and N°7, a deep plum.
Eyeliner Effet Faux Cils (£23) – No7, gold
There are two variations of Blush Radiance – No7 and No8 (£31).
You can use Rouge Volupté N°11, a gorgeous red or N°12, a rich plum with subtle eye makeup or highly emphasized eyes, and N°3 Nude Beige or N°9 Beige Rosé (on the photo)
This collection is actually out on the 3rd October.
