It will be easier to say what brand is not bringing out a new foundation/base product for SS16 (a lot of cushions and foundations with a dropper). But I am personally most excited about BECCA, hands down. They just know what a good base is and they always deliver.
Let’s take a look at the new products.
BECCA Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation ($44 from Sephora)
“A light, buildable foundation that imparts subtle luminosity with a weightless feel. Every weightless drop of fluid imparts subtle luminosity that blurs imperfections and leaves a soft-focused glow. ”
There are 8 shades in the line from Fair to Deep Bronze (both shown above).
Here is actually a video that demonstrates the foundation really well.
BECCA Backlight Priming Filter ($38 from Sephora and £32 from Cult Beauty)
“Infused with three unique Filtering Luminescent Pearls, each one adds a different drop of diffused light. Blended together, they impart a one-of-a-kind, lightweight, whipped fluid that creates a smooth canvas and acts as an instant filter, while the vitamin E-enriched formula minimizes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.”
I really love the idea of both products but there are actually four colour correctors, too.
BECCA Backlight Targeted Colour Corrector ( $30 from Sephora)
- Violet – neutralizes dullness to brighten skin tone
- Pistacio – neutralizes redness to even skin tone
- Papaya – neutralizes deep blues and greens to even skin tone
- Peach – neutralizes dark spots and hyperpigmentation to even skin tone
I used to have some colour correcting pigments from Make Up For Ever but I’ve barely used them, and do you use such products?
The colour correctors are interesting. I have never used one that is why so curious about these. Love the packaging and the colors as well. I will checking on these…….
Hi Emma, I used MUFE green one in the past, and it was pretty good.
I haven’t, but now I should because with age, my skin is changing. I’m interested to get these.
I hope it works for you, Christina!
Thank you! I don’t see it being available yet here where I am.
I am back to let you know that I purchased a colour corrector and backlight primer. The foundation lightest shade is way too dark!
What I don’t know what to do is which one do I put on first? The primer or the colour corrector?
Hi Christina,
Is that primer as good as it sounds? I’d put primer all over the face and CC where I need it, after the primer.
