BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector in Pearl Review and Swatches. An Absolute Must Have

If you read my blog for  some time, you probably already know that I LOVE BECCA! But how did it all started?

It all started with the Shimmering Skin Perfector.  I love highlighters and I had quite a few but  was still searching for the perfect one when Lisa Eldridge recommended me her all time favourite one!

I am sorry that it doesn’t look that nice but I’ve been using it for a long time already

BECCA LOVE

I never tried BECCA so the prices scared me off a bit (they are the same as Chanel, Dior etc). This particular product is £33/€45/$41. But I’ve decided to give it a try, and ordered mine from zuneta.

And I am so happy that I did! Now this is a must have for me. Moreover, I liked it so much that I’ve decided to try ALL the products from the brand, and I am slowly getting there.

But back to the highlighter. Yes, you may think that £33 is too expensive but seriously, you get 50ml, just think about it! Fifty ml of a highlighter when all you need is a tiny amount of  the product. It means that it will last you for ages.

Shimmering Skin Perfector is also a great investment  if you are a Make-Up Artist, you can just get several shades of the SSP and you are done with highlighters for a long time ahead!

This is how the pump looks like

Texture and Finish

And what about the quality?

It is amazing! It blends into the skin and gives you this natural glow without being too shiny or greasy. Looks  natural and really changes the way you look. If you blend it well with the other products it will give you that “red carpet” polished look. SSP also has a divine scent to it.

To tell the truth, this is the case where I can’t think of any negative thing to say. The quality is brilliant, the price is great (yes, it’s a great price for 50 ml) and  there are a lot of shades to choose from.

Well done, BECCA, as per usual, I may add. As you can see, I totally recommend it!

I’ve tried to capture the effect and you can see it better on the second photo. If you blend it  nicely – you should get this polished healthy look. Think beautiful glowing complexion.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post and if you are fan of BECCA, please share what is your favourite product.

You can buy it from Cult Beauty and Sephora.

      1. I’m looking for a highlighter and have just watched Lisas video. She comments that the Shimmering skin perfector in Pearl is good for fair skins. I’m new to make up ( left it a bit late at 40!) What would be a good colour for a light/medium skin? i’m blonde, with blue eyes, but not too pale. I’m reading Rae Morris make up book at the moment and her section on Highlighting suggests soft gold and rose golds for medium toned skin. I’m so confused, but I love that highlight glow look that i see on models and TV stars and singers. Aching to know how to achieve it. I’ve looked at Nars Copacabana highlighter too . So many products, so much confusion! Please help

        1. Hi Louise,
Unfortunately I can’t tell you the shade without seeing you as I don’t want to give a wrong advice. I’d recommend to visit a shopping centre with a lot of makeup counters and ask to get it matched for you.
First of all try to figure what effect you want to get and what texture you prefer and than just ask for a similar product. But if you want THIS highlighter I can ask at BECCA which one would they recommend (according to your description) and will get back to you.
I haven’t tried NARS highlighters so can’t comment on those. I know that some people like them and some don’t.

          1. Yes please Marina, I’d appreciate that. I haven’t found a Becca counter in Sydney yet, I’m still looking. I’m tempted to just get the order the Pearl on line, as everyone seems pleased with it. But would love you to enquire if its only suited for pale skins.
            Thanks again

  1. OMG Lisa Eldridge commented on your blog! Benefit High Beam is £18 for 15ml so this is actually quite cheap. I can usually justify any expense when it comes to make up 😀

  2. again I came here because of Lisa’s recommendation.
I have very oily skin and shines throughout the day.
I have this vision of this nice dewy skin but I don’t know if I can achieve it or rather if I should with this product.
I guess my shine is mainly in the t zone.
I also have post acne skin.
Do you think I should try this product too.

I really like that glowy ‘expensive’ skin Lisa mentioned, like the ones you see on celebrities.
    What do you think Marina?

    1. Hi Sherry,
I am so sorry that I am replying only now.
Is there a possibility you can get a sample first? I known that zuneta has samples of SSP which you can get with your order. This is an option if you don’t have a BECCA counter near you. And do you use other highlighters?
