Bridal Beauty: The Products I’ve Used On My Wedding Day

Long time readers will know how I do not really share personal things, however, this month I’ve got married, and I wanted to share the products I’ve used on the big day. Of course, I did my own makeup.

I’ve tried many products and product combos but, in the end, I’ve just decided to use my beloved  Rouge Bunny Rouge SERENE LIGHT Skin Perfector  (here). This is a slightly tinted primer which leaves your skin glowing and luminous. For my very dry skin it is perfect. It is a primer so barely gives any coverage but is great for adding radiance and creating that “healthy” polished look.  I’ve covered all the little imperfections I’ve had with the MAC Pro Concealer and Corrector Palette in Light ( Amazon and Amazon UK) slightly powdered the t-zone  with the Rouge Bunny Rouge Flawless Face Powder Precious Velvet (review). It it the only powder I use, not a fan of powder on myself. I’ve added some Highlighting Liquid Seas of Illumination in Sea Of Tranquility (review) , also by RBR, where I wanted to have more glow.  I’ve chosen a cool-toned highlighter to go well with my cool toned lipstick and nail varnish. To add some warmth to my face I’ve used two of my absolute favourites – theBalm Balm Desert (review) and Daniel Sandler Watercolour in Golden Glow (review). I’ve mentioned both products so many times that I won’t go into much details again, I just bloody love both. And I always use Daniel’s blushers on brides so used my favourite shade on myself, as well.  Besides the old favourites I’ve decided to try a new product for me (used it only twice before) –Trish McEvoy Instant Eye Lift (Nordstrom and Liberty ) and it did not disappoint.  It is a cult product for a reason, it  helped with the darkness under the eyes without enhancing the fine lines.

I’ve started with Rouge Bunny Rouge  Pristine Light Light Corrective Eye Primer  (here) to make the eye shadows look brighter and to make sure they lasted all day.  As for the eye shadows, I’ve tried so many to find the perfect ones, and ended up using Chanel Les 4 Ombres 266 Tisse Essentiel which was a LE. A few days before the wedding my favourite eye liner by ByTerry stopped performing as well as it used to so I had to rush out and buy a replacement very last minute which was very stressful. I’ve picked up Givenchy Liner Couture Precision Felt-Tip Eyeliner  (Sephora and  Escentual) which is nice but not the best one I’ve ever had. I also bought a mascara which everyone was raving about but did not like it so ended up using a mini Hourglass Caution Extreme Lash Mascara ( Cult Beauty and Nordstrom) from my advent calendar, and it was phenomenal. I’ve used a touch of theBalm Batter Up Long Wearing Eye Shadow Stick in Moonshot ( review) just in the inner corner and a bit  of Rouge Bunny Rouge Long Lasting Duo Cream Eye Shadow in 097 Birddwing Beauteous ( review), which I forgot to include in a photo, in the centre of the eye lid for some dimension.

I’ve used only one product in my eye brows – Benefit Precise my Brow Pencil in 4 (Sephora and Amazon UK) Have been using it daily during the last several months.

The hardest thing was choosing the lip colour, I’ve tried so many variants. But instead of all plans I’ve just applied Tom Ford’s Bruised Plum (review) a few minutes before heading out, and looking back I can tell that it was a great choice, it matched my nails, ring, flowers and shoes just perfectly.

As you can see from the photos above, I had a very simple cream (I don’t like white and don’t even own anything white) dress with an open back from Valentino. It was a love at first sight, and I knew that I could only have that dress.

Was very chuffed to get a lovespoon, as you can tell.

I also wanted to mention that my fragrance was Le Labo Rose 31 (Nordstrom, Selfridges, Cult Beauty and  Net A Porter) and that to be able to get away with only a primer on the wedding day I had to make sure I took the best care possible of my skin, so stay tuned for more details which I will share over at my Instagram.
