Rouge Allure Laque- is the ideal weapon of ultimate seduction that gives the lips an even more “dressed-up” style. This little jewel in black lacquered glass conceals an “artist’s brush” applicator, the secret weapon of precision for perfectly defined lips. It offers a new, elegant beauty gesture. It combines the easy application of a gloss with the makeup finish of a lipstick.A brilliantly stylised signature for the lips. Its light, creamy texture, filled with “soft focus” coated pigments, coats lips in intense colour and lacquered shine. A botanical jelling agent provides perfect hold, while Jojoba oil extract ensures extreme comfort. (c) Chanel
I really love reading (or watching) about people’s top favourite beauty products, as this is a great way to discover new gems. I have posted 15 favourite makeup products of 2015 so now it is time to post about my most loved makeup products in 2016.
Unfortunately, four products (Dior lipstick , Illamasqua nail varnish, Clarins bronzer and eye shadows) that I absolutely adored and used non-stop this year are no longer available so I will have to mention only those items that you can still get.
Rouge Bunny Rouge Serene Light Skin Perfector
This was pretty much the only base product I have been using ever since I received it several months ago. I still haven’t written a proper feature as I really wanted to give it a good test before that. The product definitely stands up to the “Skin Perfector” name, as it makes the complexion glow without looking too shiny or oily. I also rarely use anything on top since it is a bit tinted. Not that I have a perfect skin but this is enough for me, I only use concealer where needed.
Clarins HydraQuench Tinted Moisturizer (review and swatches)
This product does not need an introduction. I’ve completely used it up, hence I had to use a different Clarins product for the reference purpose. It is like a dry skin’s best friend, this tinted moisturizer never makes your skin look flaky and never accentuates the dry patches. Instead, the skin looks somehow “healthy” and radiant. Love!
Rouge Bunny Rouge Glide Concealer NAKED DISGUISE (review and swatches)
Regular readers will probably know that I barely ever use concealer because I don’t really mind a bit of dark-ish circles, as horrible as it sounds. But I personally hate the perfectly concealed under-eye area on myself. I also almost never get spots, so no need for the concealer in any other places. However, I do really like this product, as it makes the under eye area look better but without making you look like a mannequin.
Inglot Sculpting HD Powder in 504 (review)
As you can see from the photo above, this product is very well loved. Perfect shade for light cool-toned complexions, and the formula is incredibly soft and easy to blend, too.
Daniel Sandler Rose Glow and Golden Glow Watercolour Blushes (review and swatches).
I have spoken about my love for the Daniel Sandler blushers numerous times but, I think, this year he really killed it. The two newest shades are to die for, and although I haven’t been wearing blush that much in 2016, I’ve been reaching for these most of the times I have. Watercolours give you the “blushing from within” kind of effect, a must try. If you are a bit scared of the liquid, which you shouldn’t be, Daniel also has cream blushes now.
Autumn is the time to be browsing foundations, as so many brands are bringing new ones out. So here are just a few that caught my attention. And it’s incredible how brands now do such a wide variety of shades, and some even demonstrate all shades applied.
Chanel Ultra Le Teint Velvet, £37. Comes in 15 shades.
“Longwearing foundation that naturally smoothes and evens out the complexion. Its blurring effect erases all imperfections and ensures makeup with a matte velvet finish.
Ultra-light, ultra-matte and ultra-natural, it instantly becomes one with the skin for a flawless complexion all day long”.
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Foundation, £34, There are 44 shades to choose from, and there is a before and after for each shade.
“Helps to achieve a smooth, natural look. Featuring a
I used to be very anti-VDay when I was younger with all my nonconformism and all, but now I am more tolerant, and by that I mean that I would not necessarily do all the “traditional” things that you should do but I would not say no to a nice gesture. While I do think that you do not need a specific day to show love to your partner, I do not see why you can’t get a little (or a luxury; like moon magic) something for your loved one?
And this feature is not an ode to consumerism, I do not want to promote getting things for the sake of it. It took me a while to make the list. All of the products I am listing are the things that I personally really love, and would recommend. I’ve picked 14 products, very symbolic.
But before we get to that part I want to be selfish, and list the three (I kind of count eye liners as one) products that I personally would love to get.
Are you reading, husband, ahem?
Personal Wish List
- LE LABO Rose 31 – Eau De Parfum (from Cult Beauty, Net a Porter, Nordstrom, Selfridges,Harrods,Saks Liberty London). This is the scent I wore for my wedding day ( I had a little sample), and would love a bottle now. Please, and thank you. And I just think that fragrance is the best gift (as long as you know which one to get).
- SARAH CHAPMAN Skin Insurance SPF 30 (£49 from Cult Beauty and Net a Porter). I am not a big foundation wearer, so I usually wear some slightly tinted glowing primer and an SPF, so this product sounds like a dream. It is a slightly tinted and radiance enhancing SPF cream. And this being Skinesis, I’d expect exceptional quality.
- While I do not need a new eye liner now [I have a rule now where I do not get new products before I run out of at least one], but I have Pat McGrath Labs
Perma Precision Liquid Eyeliner (£26) and CHARLOTTE TILBURY The Feline Flick (£22) waiting for their turn.
- Dior Nail polish in Pandore (review). This is my red nail varnish of choice, gorgeous vibrant fiery red. And the Dior formula is insane, opaque, glossy and long lasting. Thumbs up!
- Red lipstick. There are so many to choose from, I would suggest one which comes in red packaging, too. So hot. I have a Chanel one, and I can’t get enough of it.
The Indie/Niche Heroes
I am always happy to support brands that are
You can never have too many lipsticks, right? So here are the three new releases that caught my eye: Lipstick Queen, Marc Jacobs and Chanel.
A revamped line of Chanel Rouge Coco with Keira Knightely. There will be 29 shades divided into several colour groups: Nudes, Pinks, Plums, Browns, Oranges, Red.
And more images (courtesy of L’Officiel)… I can see at least three shades that I want to try out. These are not out yet.
