A photo of myself online, yeah, I know…
My partner and I just came back from the most incredible holiday in Cyprus last week, and I thought I’d share a few photos and some of our favourite beauty/grooming products.
Probably the most used product was Clarins Sun Care Oil Spray [Clarins is available from Selfridges,Harrods, Escentual.com, Nordstorm, Sephora, Bergdorf Goodman.] just like all the other Clarins for/after sun products. I was picturing the most beautiful photos I’d take for this feature but, unfortunately, we’ve been too busy enjoying our vacation so I did not have time to do everything that I’ve wanted.
At least I’ve managed to snap a few beautiful views of the island.
Here is also an overview of some of the
I used to write about my monthly favourites back in 2009, I think, but somehow stopped doing that. So I thought why not giving it another go in 2013?
So here is the list of my January 2013 Favourites and this time I’ve chosen only makeup, not to make a huge list. But next time I will probably add some of my beauty favourites, too. What do you think?
So here we go…
If I could choose only one favourite product of January – that would be Clarins Gloss Prodige in 09 Water Lily which is now my favourite lip gloss! It is hydrating, smoothing and looks beautiful on the lips. And it smells delicious, too.
Another product from Clarins would be their Beauty Flash Balm which is a must have for me in winter months, it makes my face look polished and brings back the glow. I also like how the foundation applies afterwards.
Speaking of foundation – my top pick would be Rouge Bunny Rouge Tinted Moisturizer Sketches on Water. If you have dry skin, I would totally recommend, it blends into the skin and
It’s that time of the year when the brands are bringing out new base products. I have posted about a few foundations already (Tom Ford, Bite Beauty, Estee Lauder). In fact, if you want to know more about the new launches follow me on Facebook.
But here is the preview of some primers, foundations and concealers that caught my attention, and I’ve chosen 6 items.
The one which I am curious to try myself is definitely the Givenchy Teint Couture City Balm, £38 later on from from Sephora, Barneys, Neiman Marcus, Harrods, Nordstrom, Escentual and Feel Unique. I wear very light city SPF products myself, and this sounds right up my street. Besides their Teint Couture line is great.
Laura Mercier, The Queen of base products launched 5 primers which have to be mentioned. Shown are the Pure Canvas Primer Illuminating (“enhancing Porcelain Flower Extract and a blend of Micronized Pearls, the primer imparts a healthy glow on skin”) and Pure Canvas Primer Hydrating (“Olive Extract visibly smooths and locks in hydration while Marine Hydra Botanicals replenish skin and promote long term moisture recovery”). There are also Pure Canvas Primer Blurring, Pure Canvas Primer Protecting and Pure Canvas Primer Perfecting. $38 each from the website.
While I did try to write about the beauty products I’ve used up, at some point I’ve got annoyed, as having a huge bag of empty bottles at home was not cool. But I’ve started posting what new products I get to replace some of those I’ve used up over at my Instagram
However, I do want to share my makeup empties. And, considering how many products I actually have, finishing even one is kind of a big deal. And I have five! I did not include any mascaras though, as I do use up several every year.
Dior Addict Lipstick in 561 Baby Rose (review and swatches)
I loved this lipstick so much and I would re-purchase it, however, Dior re-launched this line, so I will have to look for a similar version. Barely there sheer pinks are my version of a nude lip, so I do end up using quite a lot of lip products like this.
Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector in 01 Rose (review and swatches)
Another sheer pink, and another Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector empty. I have finished quite a lot of these during the years, both glosses and
I am the biggest fan of a red lipstick, and if there is anything better than a red [lipstick], that is one in a red packaging. And it looks like it is a mini trend for the Autumn, and it is something that has my 100% approval.
325 Rouge Kiss Guerlain (I actually have this shade in a regular packaging), Copacabana Lancome and Ultra Trouble Dior; Chanel is from previous collection
Let’s take a look.
Chanel Rouge Allure
First of all, if you’ve missed the red edition Rouge Allure last Christmas, fear not, there will be new ones this Christmas. They are not out yet but should be any week now. Chanel is available from Nordstorm, Saks, Neiman Marcus, Selfridges and Harrods.
GUERLAIN KissKiss Creamy Satin Finish Lipstick, $37 from Sephora
“Enriched with hyaluronic acid spheres, KissKiss creates a look of
