It is the time when I am telling you about my favourite products of the year. I did not pick a product in each category just for the sake of having one, but rather only those that really stood out for me.
The first part will be about makeup. Here we go…
Base:Clarins HydraQuench Tinted Moisturizer (review)
Although there were quite a few “foundations” I loved, this tinted moisturizer was the base of 2014. It gives a natural and glowing light-t0-medium coverage, and leaves the skin looking beautiful. HydraQuench is one of my favourite skincare ranges, and this TM is just as good, as everything else, works perfectly for my very dry, dehydrated and sensitive skin. I am very pleased that it never accentuated any dry patches I sometimes have.
Concealer: Clarins Instant Concealer (review)
Definitely the best concealer out there, covers the dark circles and brightens the under eye area, doesn’t get in the fine lines, stays on really well.
Powder: Rouge Bunny Rouge Flawless Face Powder Precious Velvet (review)
I have to say that
I am really loving these new Trish McEvoy trio eye shadows and face palette. I think they would make an amazing gift even for those who already have it all as Trish’s brand is not that easily available so it’s quite exclusive plus it looks adorable.
There are two colour variations of Effortless Eyes Wet & Dry Eyeshadow Trio in Lilac and Nude. These are handmade in Italy. Each is $42 and they are sold without the makeup case.
There is also this gorgeous Golden Face Color Trio which includes Golden and Golden Tan Bronzers and Blush Natural. It retails for $38.
I’ve noticed that a lot of readers love the photos with just a random selection of products. So, as I was organizing my makeup today, I thought I’d take the photo of some of my bronzers.
Unfortunately, most of them were Limited Edition so there is no point to link to the reviews. The only two which you can still get are those bronzers from Too Faced. And Hoola from Benefit, of course.
I still have to write about the Clarins bronzer, which is from this summer edition and about the Chanel one which I had for ages but never mentioned for some reason.
And do you use bronzers? Which one is your favourite?
Long time readers will know how I do not really share personal things, however, this month I’ve got married, and I wanted to share the products I’ve used on the big day. Of course, I did my own makeup.
I’ve tried many products and product combos but, in the end, I’ve just decided to use my beloved Rouge Bunny Rouge SERENE LIGHT Skin Perfector (here). This is a slightly tinted primer which leaves your skin glowing and luminous. For my very dry skin it is perfect. It is a primer so barely gives any coverage but is great for adding radiance and creating that “healthy” polished look. I’ve covered all the little imperfections I’ve had with the MAC Pro Concealer and Corrector Palette in Light ( Amazon and Amazon UK) slightly powdered the t-zone with the Rouge Bunny Rouge Flawless Face Powder Precious Velvet (review). It it the only powder I use, not a fan of powder on myself. I’ve added some Highlighting Liquid Seas of Illumination in Sea Of Tranquility (review) , also by RBR, where I wanted to have more glow. I’ve chosen a cool-toned highlighter to go well with my cool toned lipstick and nail varnish. To add some warmth to my face I’ve used two of my absolute favourites – theBalm Balm Desert (review) and Daniel Sandler Watercolour in Golden Glow (review). I’ve mentioned both products so many times that I won’t go into much details again, I just bloody love both. And I always use Daniel’s blushers on brides so used my favourite shade on myself, as well. Besides the old favourites I’ve decided to try a new product for me (used it only twice before) –Trish McEvoy Instant Eye Lift (Nordstrom and Liberty ) and it did not disappoint. It is a
I was getting my nails day done the other day, and my manicurist and I started talking how brows are a big thing these days, and they so are! I remember even 5 years ago very few brands had special eye brow products but now every brand does at least one type of an eye brow product. And I have written about so many new releases already, but here are even more.
Laura Mercier and Trish McEvoy release eye brow gels, and Benefit actually brought out a huge collection just for brows, let’s take a look.
Laura Mercier Brow Dimension Fiber-Infused Colour Gel, $24 from Neiman Marcus
“A fiber-infused colour gel that immediately creates volume and density to brows leaving them full, dimensional and natural-looking. The gel base grooms, defines, and sets brow looks for a
