I have to confess that my love for nail polishes in 2010 got so much stronger! I can’t say that I was a fan of nail polishes in the past. This is probably the only thing that changed since I’ve started my blog almost 2 years ago.
I’ve actually bought more nail polishes in the last year than in all the years before 2010. I am obviously not as obsessed as the nail polish bloggers who are also responsible for my new love, but for my standards I’ve got quite a lot of nail polishes and I plan to get even more in 2011.
I can’t say that I’ve tried all the brands on the market ( mostly because some are hard to get for me) but from what I’ve tried – the winners are…
Illamasqua Nail Varnish
These are (£13) amazing nail varnishes: they are opaque with only one coat and stay on for a long time. Plus the colours are so, so beautiful.
By the way, I am wearing the Alarm Nail Varnish as I am typing this.

Barry M Nail Paints
You know, I’ve been SO impressed with Barry M nail polishes (£2.99), they are amazing! And just think about the price! I don’t know about you, but I now have a h-u-g-e list of their nail polishes that I plan to get! Plus so many colours to choose from.

And what nail polishes did YOU like in 2010? What was your favourite colour?
I agree about Barry M and Illamasqua! Two of my three favourites, and I also like Nubar. My favourite colour this year was Chanel Graphite, even though I normally go for less neutral tones. My only complaint about Illamasqua is the price is £13.50 in the UK and $14.00 in the US – this is a UK company, too! Their colours are really innovative and so are Nubar’s. Barry M colours are more basic, but the quality is fantastic and the price is such a treat! Much better quality than some brands which cost several times more. Takes a while to dry completely, but so lovely and glossy! Barry M is my find of the year!
Agree with everything you’ve said, Andrea! I still have to try Nubar…
