It is not so often that I come across an absolutely fantastic mascara. The one I loved the most in 2018 was Smith & Cult Lash Dance but I have recently discovered another incredibly good one. And it is Hourglass Caution Extreme Lash Mascara. I remember being very impressed with their Film Noir mascara back in 2011, and this one is brilliant, as well!
It comes in a beautiful golden tube but I have a mini/travel version hence it looks different.
As I always say, I want my eye lashes to be dramatic, I do not want a “natural” effect, and this mascara delivers. I find that the formula is very buildable, as promised, but it is clump free, you do not get those spidery lashes as with some other mascaras. Instead, your lashes are lusciously voluminous, ultra black and oh-so-long. I can’t say anything about the lifting/curling properties, as I am always using my eye lash curlers.
I also find that the shape of the brush makes it easy to access even the shortest lashes. Another bonus is smudge-free and long-lasting results. On me this mascara looks fabulous even at the end of the day.
You can get yours for £25/£12. $14/$29 from Cult Beauty, Nordstrom, Barneys, Sephora, Bergdorf Goodman, Net-A-Porter.com, Space.NK,
I also wanted so mention that I am very impressed with the fact that Hourglass stay true to themselves even though they have been acquired by a big corporation (Unilever). This is not something you see often. If you would like to know more about the brand you are welcome to read my interview with Carisa Janes, the founder.
