Regular readers know that I am a huge fan of red nail polishes, and I am actually very picky, there are not that many that I truly like. My favourite is actually Revlon’s Red, it is a bright true red, not dull, but not neon, not warm toned, but not too cool – it’s a timeless classic.
But I’ve managed to find another red which I love as much, as Revlon. It is Marc Jacob’s Nail Enamored Hi-Shine Nail Lacquer in Lola. You can see it, freshly applied, here.
But on the photo below is manicure with Lola after a week, that’s why it doesn’t look i’t best! It is with a top coat, since without it the nail polish doesn’t last for the whole week. But still impressive, right? There are very few nail polishes that last that well on me.
I love this nail polish so much that I would talk about it with everyone who would listen, ha!
- Look at that design! It’s the coolest nail polish bottle I’ve ever seen. When I saw the promo photos for the first time – I knew that it had to be mine.
- The colour is
I used to be a bit obsessed with all the different nail polishes. All those out-of-this-world stunning shades and innovative finishes really rocked my world. Of course, I am no way even close to the real nail polish fanatics, but I do have several shades of yellow, for example.
But recently something changed and I’ve been wearing classic colours all the time, think red/berry/plum. I don’t know why, but every time I paint my nails with green or brown, I’m not feeling it. It’s been like this for about two months. Back to the basics?
The only shades that
Apparently, I don’t know such thing, as “too much black”, or, for that matter, often “too much red”.
I have been drawn to red lipstick and nail polish combo for years and years now. But lately I’ve been wearing it non-stop, almost.
While I’ve started “doing red nails” just when I started wearing polish in general, it took me some time to get used to red lipstick, and thank God. A teen with an (often badly applied) red lipstick is not the best sight ever, you know?!
Yes, I do wear it all with a red shirt. Did I mention
I have quite a few Maybelline Colorama nail polishes, so I was curious to try the re-launched range. Compared to the old design (and my horrible photos) this new look is so much better, it is chic and looks like it could be a part of a luxury line.
The brush is also easier to use now, it’s not a wide-and-thin one but I can’t complain.
But since I have a lot of red nail polishes already (my favourite has to be Revlon Red, the best red, in my opinion), I gave this one to my aunt along with red lipstick. My uncle better appreciate, ha!
Today I want to show you one more nail polish which is among my favourites and it is L’Oreal Resist & Shine Titanium Nail Polish in 734 Black Red.
I’ve actually had it for over a year now and wore it numerous times but somehow always forgot to take the photo.
So here it is finally! And I am so in love with the blackened red, it is a perfect combination if you ask me… It looks absolutely stunning on the nails.
The nail polish applies evenly and is opaque with two coats but the thing that I hate about it is the brush. It is long and thin (and I like it to be short and thick) so I manage to create some mess, especially near the cuticles. But if that’s the kind of brush you like, it shouldn’t be a problem for you.
Although on me it doesn’t last for seven days, as promised, I love and use this nail polish a lot.
