Summer Must Have: Shimmer Body Oils. 2019 Edition

I am a huge fan of shimmer body oils for summer and have been for a while.  Why? Simply because they make your skin look polished. And don’t worry, you will not end up looking like a greasy disco ball,  shimmer oil for your body is like highlighter for your face. It just makes everything look dewy and glowing, in a good way. Not to mention that it’s not only a visual effect, as the  ingredients in your oil will moisturise, soften and smooth the skin.

While I still remain a huge fan of Omorovicza, you don’t have to spend €70 on it, while it is worth it, in my opinion. So here are three body shimmer oils which caught my attention this summer.

One is brand new, one was around for some time, and the third one just got some new LE shades. Let’s take a look.

SOL DE JANEIRO Glowmotions, £35/ $35 (75ml ) from Cult Beauty and Sephora.

I really loved the Bum Bum cream so would expect these to be incredible, as well.  There are

Kind Natured Body Care For Dry and Very Dry Skin Review

Kind Natured, an affordable  natural brand (it is promised that the products are free of Sulphates, Parabens and Petrochemicals; and are 97% natural in general) brought out two new lines recently, and I was kindly sent some products to try out.

Two new ranges are:

  • Shea & Macadamia  – described as deeply nourishing  and formulated for very dry skin.
  • Coconut & Monoi – described as moisturising and formulated for normal and dry skin

Each line has three products so far: Foaming Sugar Scrub (£5.99), Body Lotion (£5.99) and a Hand Cream (£4.99).

So what are my thoughts?

First of all, I think it was a clever idea to bring out the scented products at this time of year when we all are a bit tired of the cold months and crave the sun. Both lines have that sweet exotic scent, and make me personally think of a summer holiday and cocktails on the beach, they are like a summer-in-a-bottle. Although the

Weleda Citrus Creamy Body Wash Review

Back in March I was away to a spa trip for my Birthday with one of my best girlfriends. Of course, I had to check her favourite beauty products as she has a very good taste in everything. And it was all mostly Weleda.  I haven’t tried that many products (here is a review of the birch body scrub), so I had to go Weleda shopping when I came home.

And I’ve got myself  their Citrus Creamy Body Wash.

And it is pretty nice, I have two main requirements for a shower gel – for it to smell nice, and not to be drying, and it ticks both boxes.

Weleda Citrus Creamy Body Wash Review

With my very dry skin, I don’t really believe in moisturizing shower products but this out isn’t drying  (no SLS in the ingredients list), as  I already said, so that is good. I use a cream/butter/oil/lotion afterwards anyway.

As for the scent – it was exactly what I was looking for, a zesty, invigoration and uplifting. I was looking for a new morning shower gel, as I

Best Beauty Products of 2014: Body. Hands. Feet. Hair

It is almost the end of January, and I am still talking about my favourite beauty products of 2014…

This time it is all things body, hair and feet & hands. Here we go.

Best Beauty Products of 2014 Body. Hands. FeetBody

Garnier Oil Beauty Oil-Infused Nourishing Scrub  (review)

This is such an amazing scrub for  dry skin, it is not harsh, not drying, leaves the skin smooth and ready for the moisturizer. Add a nice scent and affordable price – and you get a perfect product!

Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Nourishing Body Lotion With Nordic Berry (review)

I have so many body creams, lotions and balms with different price tags but this is among my favourites. The scent is divine, the texture is gorgeous, and it moisturizes even my very dry skin. I have used up several bottle of this, and need a new one again.

Favourite Affordable Shower Gel and Body Lotion

I have  posted a photo on Instagram of two of my current favourites last week, and thought I’d write about them in more details.

You all know how much I love my high-end luxury bath & shower  products, but these two have completely replaced them recently. And let me tell you why…

Oldspice shower gel and Garnier Oild Beauty body lotion

Old Spice Shower Gel in Champion.

I will be honest – I have  stolen borrowed  it from someone who is obsessed with it, and who always smells nice. I do love me some Old Spice, so I loved this one too. It doesn’t smell too manly, at least not for me. And now a shower with this gel is  my favourite way to start  mornings (and also post workout), followed by a cup of earl Grey. It’s all about the small pleasures in life, you know?!

By the way, how can you not have a good day when the name is “Champion”?

You can buy it here and here.
