(This is one of my fav photo of us. it is quite old, no makeup)
Sonya is no longer with me after 13.5 years. She would turn 14 this winter. She had serious problems with breathing so I called the vet today to put her asleep. The weather is awful and it’s raining all the time. I can’t imagine that now ner little body is under the wet ground. My little baby . The pain is just killing me and I CAN’T REALIZE THAT SHE IS GONE…………………………. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am very sorry to hear about Sonya! I am very sorry.

Aww. I’m so sorry. I know how that feels. Stay strong for both you and Sonya. Hope you feel better
Thank you, Betsy! x
the worst thing is that when I feel bad I always want her to be near me. And now I just can’t have her here. I wonder where is she right now….
I imagine that she is playing with other kittens and this makes me smile
hi, Ying!
thank you very much! And I am sorry that you lost your pet, too
I am so sorry. I just lost my kitty Little, she and I were together for 22 years. It was 3 weeks ago last Saturday and I am still very, very sad. I know what you are going through. I wish I could say something that would make it better, but being grateful for all of the time the two of you had together is what has helped me. Sending you and Sonya love and blessings. xx
Lori
I am so sorry. She was very lucky to have such a loving mom and having lived a good life. My puppy is almost 14 and I know the time is near. We are so blessed to have them in our lives…..but it sure hurts when they are gone.
Oh no! Marina I am so sorry! I didn’t know you had her for so long, my heart is broken. She was such a beautiful cat…She is playing with lots of mice and eating tons of catnip right now! 😀
Xoxoxo
RIP
Sonya

hi, Lori
OMG! 22 years. You are so lucky!
Unfortunately I think that we will never forget our cats:(
And I agree that the best thing is to be grateful for what we had! I hope you feel better soon.
I am also very sad that my Sonya never had kittens. I would keep one for sure plus this was a negative thing for her health 🙁
hi, Abby
oh, thank you so much! I was blessed to have such an adorable kitty. Even people who didn’t love cats liked her! A lot of my friends are shocked and upset that she is gone.
As for your puppy I hope you will enjoy each day with him/her! And he/she will bring you joy for at least 5 years 🙂 !
hi, Alexis!
Thank you so much. She was a beauty, indeed and was behaving herself like a queen! 😛 I hope she is having a great time now and thinks about me, too
You are so lucky that Ivan is so young 🙂
You did best for her, I’m sure…

I am soooo sorry to hear about the lose of your beloved sonya. They are like our children in so many ways. They certainly are little blessings in disguise. I sometimes wonder if God makes them our guardian angels on earth to give us something to love uncondionally. My prayers are with you during your difficult time
привет, Юля
Да, как бы мне не хотелось попробовать еще какое-то лечение, но у нее началась проблема с легкими и она задыхалась.
Мне все время кажется, что она вот-вот придет ко мне в комнату…Но этого не случится 🙁
Dana, thank you very much for all your kind words!
This week I read that sometimes we become so miserable that we forget about faithful God who is always there to make our pain easier. Good words but so hard to live like that…
Hi Marina,
I am so very sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine how heartbreaking it feels.
My heart goes out to you.
RIP, beloved kitty.
RIP to a very beauty kitty.
So sorry for your loss.
Hi Marina,
I can’t imagine how painful this must be for you. I’m very sorry for your loss.
I’m so sorry. Do you know why she had the breathing probs? I recently found out that my Willy has feline obstructive cardiomyopathy; he’s on meds but not sure how long he has. I’m so, so, sorry for your loss.
I’m so sorry to hear about your Kitty! I hope you feel better soon!!

Marina…I am sending you hugs. As I think about how I felt when I lost my beloved Shera I feel like crying. I was 22 and she was my first pet. She died several years ago at the age of 21…and in retrospect I let her go too long because I was too afraid of letting her go before she was in too much pain. You did the right thing to think of Sonya’s needs first since she was relying on you to make the decisions she could not (despite your pain). Shera has visited me now and then, even my 13 y.o. daughter agrees. I asked her once if she ever felt a cat get on the bed at night and look to see none on the bed…and she replied that she had and how funny that was that we both felt it . I bet Sonya will visit her Mommy to check on you. In the meantime she is happy and healthy where she is now 🙂
I am so sorry! My 17 year old is going down hill fast. I know how bad it hurts.
Hugs to you!
hi, Tabs and Karen!
Thank you so much, dear Karen for all your kind words and the post on your blog! I was really touched!
hugs to you and the kitty!
PS. I don’t know why but all your comments are marked as spam:(
hi, Sarah!
To be honest I wasn’t listening to all that the vet was saying because I just didn’t care about that at the moment. She had an operation about a month ago. I wrote about it here http://www.makeup4all.com/new-design-and-name/
but it was too late. she was living for about a month after it. Infection reached almost all of her organs …
We could try to save her but she was in such pain that I could not torture her just be be happy myself.
I really hope that your Willy will get better soon. Please let me know how he is doing!
hi, Kitiya!
thank you for stopping by! I will be better but I just need more time…
I am so sorry….We had to put down 1 dog and 1 cat within 2 months of each other. I feel your pain.
This is my first time finding your blog (through Karen’s blog post), but I want to say I’m truly sorry for your loss. I lost my cat Sox this past December, so I know exactly how hard it is. He was 15 years old. The vet originally told us he was getting weaker and skinnier because of kidney problems due to his old age, and that he would feel better after getting subcutaneous fluids (basically an IV every few days). But he only got worse after two weeks, so I took him back to the vet. He ended up having cancer throughout his lymphatic system, and my family and I had no choice but to put him to sleep. We didn’t want him to suffer anymore. It was very hard for me to deal with and I’ll always miss him, but I’m glad he and Sonya are no longer sick and that they’re in a better place now. She was a beautiful kitty, and looks like she was a sweetheart.
hi, Denise!
Thank very you much for support!
Sonya was my first pet, too. I got her when I was a teenager so we kind of grew up together. Such an interesting story! I really wonder what happens to animals when they die. But no matter what she will always live in my heart.
hi,Jeri!
I am so sorry to hear that 🙁 I hope you are doing better now. It is so painful when our beloved pets die.
hi, Marlo!
First of all I am so thankful to Karen for the post. I am really thankful! And I am SO thankful for all the lovely comments. This means so much to me.
I am so sorry to hear the story about your baby Sox. This is just the same which was with mine(the situation). I could try of course to save her but that would be selfish.
And I am so proud that many people think that she is beautiful. She really is ! 🙂
hi, Tina!
Thank you for the comment. And I hope that it won’t be so painful for you.
and hugs to you back
