Second Skin Foundation by Max Factor. Review and Swatches

Second Skin Foundation from Max Factor (£13.99 at Boots)

Max Factor Second Skin Foundation

What is written about this foundation:

It’s easy to see why Max Factor has named its new foundation Second Skin – it really does blend seamlessly, leaving the most flawless finish, with no tell-tale lines.

While many other foundations aim for uniform all-over coverage, disguising every hint of natural colour, this innovative new formula doesn’t attempt to hide tone, working in harmony with your complexion instead.

This is foundation for those that want their skin to look its natural best – rather than obviously made-up.

My opinion:

This foundation was sent to me by Max Factor PR and I’ve been using it for quite a long time already so what is my verdict? It’s a perfect foundation!  I read so many great reviews of my fav bloggers and I also read a great review in Vogue. Now I understand why is it called Second Skin.  It gives you the flawless finish, stays on for a long time (for me it’s usually 8-19) and yet it looks so natural!

I have a very dry skin and so far only 2 foundations worked for me the way I like it ( You can read my review about one of them here) now I found one more foundation which doesn’t make an accent on my dry skin. What is also very important – it’s easy to apply this foundation even with your fingers and the formula is amazing.

The only  “-” that I can find is that there are only 5 shades so far. I have  2 shades: Creamy Ivory and Warm Almond.  And only Creamy Ivory  works for me.

1. Warm Almond 2. Creamy Ivory

And what do you think about this foundation? Did you try it?

  1. I really want to try this one, but my complexion is oily and I dunno if it’s going to last that much on my complexion. I’m also thinking of buying the microfinish HD powder from MUFE because in my case I really need this to fix my foundation on. For oily complexions I know that is not recommended a liquid foundation (except those which are made specially for it) so I’m really anxious of trying this one and see how it goes.

  2. Tavia, I know that girls with combination skin also liked this foundation. So I think that it will work for you, too.

As for MUFE powder I read only good reviews about it as well but I don’t have it myself

  4. I try that foundation on my friend´s skin and it looks really great. It makes beautifull natural look. And i want to try that one to, but i don´t know which shade would be for me. So i went to the foundation matrix and i saw that a shade Warm Almond would be ok for me. But i am not sure if that shade have enought green pigments in it. So i would be really gracefull for any advice. =)

    1. Hi, Špela
I am sorry but I can’t tell you anything, you have to find the shade that you need yourself. But I can say that it’s an amazing foundation.
