I remember when I have just launched Makeup4all [almost] 8 years ago now, I would check the analytics every day, sometimes even more than once. As Metallica’s song goes “Sad But True”. But lately I check the analytics maybe once a month just to see what features you loved the most to make some conclusions for the upcoming posts.
And here are actually 16 most viewed posts of 2016, and I have included only the features about the products that are still available. I was actually surprised to see the most popular review of 2016 was of a Rouge Bunny Rouge eye pencil. They have recently launched a new shade, so I better write up about it soon.
I was also a bit surprised to see that Max Factor reviews got a ridiculous amount of views, and I really did not expect that. But, to be honest, I am happy, as I have a very special love for Max Factor, not only it was the brand I used to buy as a teenager with my first earned money but also, it was the first brand I have ever worked with for Makeup4all, not to mention the history of the brand, so I am happy that the reviews of their products get so many views, I genuinely love so many of them.

First of all, how is it December already? I mean how is it the last month of 2016?! Are you excited for 2017? I know I am!
When I have gathered the beauty favourites to take a photo, I have realised that most of them are the same products I’ve featured in October so here are only the ones which I haven’t.
Before we start, I would like to mention some other things I really loved in November which are beauty related, too.
Photos from my Insta
Book – Branded Beauty by Mark Tungate (from Amazon and Amazon UK). I think everyone who is interested in beauty and brands should read it, the book is packed with interesting facts and quotes. I personally really enjoyed the history of so many companies and the explanation about the marketing tips and tricks.
Mr. Selfridge TV Series. (Amazon and Amazon UK). I’ve had this on my to-watch list for a long time already but gave it a go only last weekend, and it is great. I love how it shows the pre -WWI history of the legendary Selfridges. Imagine that it was unthinkable to sell beauty products over the counter back in the days for obvious reasons, it is very well shown in Season 1 Episode 3.
Sparkles. I have to admit, I just have to have anything sparkling these days to brighten up the grey and dark November days, which feel like forever nights actually.
I also simply have to include
It’s time for February favourites, and considering that I was sick for 10+ days in the shortest month of the year, there isn’t that much to show. But here are the products that really stood out to me.
Soap & Glory Whipped Clean Shower Butter (review)
Moisturising shower product that smells of almonds, pistachios and vanilla. Oh, yes! It is an instant cheer-me-up and works great for shaving, too.
Kerastase Mousse Bouffante Luxurious Volumising Mousse
I’ve been on a hunt for a new product for voluminous hair for some time now, and this is the one I’ve picked up, as mentioned here. I was a bit worried, as I haven’t used a mousse in more than 10 years but this one really delivers. Mousse Bouffante creates beautiful big hair without being sticky or making the hair look or feel greasy.
Uriage Gyn-Phy Intimate Hygiene Protective Cleansing Gel
Probably the best product for intimate hygiene I’ve ever used, it is gentle but effective, smells really nice and is a great way to start and finish the day with. We talk so much about facial cleansers and shower gels but not enough about the intimate washes. And this is a great one, go get it.
Maybelline Master Smoky Shadow Pencil in Smoky Chocolate (Review and Swatches)
I have re-discovered my
Last week(s) was very stressful and intense for me, I’ve barely had time for anything (lack of sleep, eating on the go, putting makeup on in a taxi) but I still had to look good. This is why I had to stick to the products that work the best for me, and didn’t have time for any experiments. So here is a selection that I love, that work, and that never let me down.
Makeup wise – my “foundation” of choice was Clarins HydraQuench Tinted Moisturizer which did not enhance any dry patches, and made my skin look glowing. It also helped to even out the skin tone, as I don’t have any major skin problems – this was enough. Bobbi Brown’s Natural Brow Shaper & Hair Touch Up in Slate is also a real gem, it tints the brows and holds them in place. I am addicted to this product , will write a detailed review soon.
Lip colour is the only thing that I’ve been changing, but most of the times that was all about the new Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm Perfectors; 03 My Pink created a
It’s monthly favourites time!
This month it was all about beautiful skin for me. The mix of Elemis Pro-Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm (review) and Clarins HydraQuench Tinted Moisturizer (review and swatches) was my dream combo. It made the skin smooth, radiant and youthful. And I mean it. I guess the fact that recently several (!) people thought that I am 19-20 speaks for itself. Plus you could definitely see the “real skin” underneath, no cakey thick masks which are even worse than bad skin tone itself, in my opinion.
Since I wanted to keep things on the light-to-medium side –YSL Touche Eclat (review and swatches) was my best friend, as well. For me it is a perfect light reflecting product for under the eye area, you get great, long-lasting results, also Touche Eclat doesn’t enhance the under eye lines.
August was definitely the month of
